Andrea Thompson made her acting breakthrough with a role in the 1987 drama film ‘Wall Street’. This was followed by a guest appearance in an episode of the TV series 'Monsters'. In 1989, she was cast as Genele Ericson in the soap opera ‘Falcon Crest’. Two years later, she played the role of Nurse Helen Caldwell in the movie ‘Delirious’. Featuring John Candy, Emma Samms, Mariel Hemingway and Raymond Burr in lead roles, the film didn’t do well at the American box office.

In 1992, the actress had a guest role in the drama series 'Civil Wars'. Two years later, she joined the cast of the sci-fi drama ‘Babylon 5’ as telepath Talia Winters. She left the drama at the end of season 2.

Thompson moved on to join the cast of the legal drama ‘JAG’ as Commander Alison Krennick. The recurring role she played between 1996 and 2004 earned her appreciation from the masses. Also in 1996, she was cast as Detective Jill Kirkendall in the crime drama series ‘NYPD Blue’. She left the show in 2000 to pursue a career in journalism. However, the actress made a comeback to acting in 2003 with a recurring role in the series ‘24’. In 2007, she featured in an episode of the TV series ‘Bones’. Thompson has also contributed to the TV shows ‘Nowhere Man’, ‘The Wild Thornberrys’ and ‘Arli$$'.

Career As a Journalist

Andrea Thompson began her journalistic career as a general assignment correspondent with CBS affiliate KRQE in New Mexico. In 2001, she joined CNN as an evening anchor for ‘Headline News’. She, however, left the network the following year due to several controversies.

After leaving CNN, Thompson went to work for Court TV, contributing to the shows ‘Forensic Files’ and ‘NYPD Blue’, as well as the documentary ‘The System’. In 2003, she started hosting ‘Psychic Detectives,’ a TV program showcasing real-life cases where psychics were involved in solving crimes.
