Amy Jackson is a British film actress and model active in the Indian film industry. She is best known for her work in the Indian romantic-thriller Tamil-language movie ‘I’. Raised in Woolton, Liverpool, she was as a tomboy as a young girl and spent most of her childhood playing sports and riding horses. After completing school, she went to St Edward's College to study English literature, philosophy, and ethics at A-Level. At the age of sixteen, she started modeling and won the title of ‘Miss Teen World’ in 2009. After winning ‘Miss Liverpool’, she was spotted by an Indian director A.L. Vijay on the ‘Miss Teen World’ website. She subsequently made her film debut in the Tamil historical drama film ‘Madrasapattinam’ in 2010. In the ensuing years, she has worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English and Kannada films, including ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’, ‘I’, and ‘The Villain’. She made her television debut in 2017 in the third season of The CW's ‘Supergirl’. She loves animals and has worked in ad campaigns for PETA.

Childhood & Early Life
Amy Jackson was born on 31 January 1991, in Douglas, Isle of Man, to Marguerita and Alan Jackson. She has an elder sister named Alicia Jackson who is also an actress. Two years after her birth, her family relocated to their parents’ home in Woolton, Liverpool, due to her father’s career.
She hails from a working-class Christian family. Her father is a producer at BBC Radio, Merseyside, and her mother is a horse-riding trainer. She was a tomboy in her childhood and spent most of her time playing sports with friends and riding horses.
She was a studious child and after completing school, she enrolled in St Edward's College to study English literature, philosophy, and ethics at A-Level.
At the age of sixteen, she started modeling part-time and won the ‘Miss Teen Liverpool’ title in 2008 and participated in ‘Miss Teen Great Britain’ pageants.

Career
Amy Jackson started her modeling career in 2009 with Boss Model Management, a Manchester-based modeling agency, before moving to Models 1. She won the ‘Miss Teen World’ title in 2009, which led to a modeling contract in US.
In 2010, she won the ‘Miss Liverpool’ title and became the runner-up to the ‘Miss England’ title. The same year, she made her debut in Indian cinema with a lead role in the historical Tamil movie ‘Madrasapattinam’.
In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with a lead role in the film ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ and received much appreciation. Subsequently in September 2012, she made an appearance in the Tamil movie ‘Thaandavam’ and received a ‘Filmfare Award’ nomination.
In 2014, she appeared in the Telugu movie ‘Yevadu’ and was ranked #1 in ‘The Times of India,’ Chennai edition’s list of the most desirable women. In 2015, she appeared in Shankar's romantic-thriller movie ‘I’ and gained much recognition and praises.
In 2015, she made appearances in Prabhu Deva's ‘Singh Is Bliing’ and ‘Thanga Magan’. In 2016, she appeared in the films ‘Gethu’, ‘Theri' and ‘Freaky Ali’.
