Alexa Davalos is an American actress who first garnered attention with her role of Gwen Raiden in the TV series ‘Angel.’ She then went on to appear in a number of films including ‘The Chronicles of Riddick,’ ‘Feast of Love,’ ‘Clash of the Titans,’ and ‘Defiance.’ Born in France to actress Elyssa Davalos and celebrity photographer Jeff Dunas, Davalos spent most of her early childhood in Italy and France before settling in New York. She kicked off her career by modeling and also worked in theater where her passion towards acting grew further. Davalos performed at New York’s Flea Theater before landing her onscreen acting career in 2002. Since then, she has appeared in several TV shows and films, and is undoubtedly one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood. In her leisure time, the talented artiste loves to read and travel. She considers herself to be a “contemptible, socially inept person.”

In 2002, Alexa Davalos made her acting debut with an uncredited appearance in the short film ‘Coastlines’. That year, she also had a role in the short movie ‘The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald’ as well as in an episode of the TV series ‘Undeclared’. The following year, she featured in the made-for-television film ‘And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself’. This was followed by her role in the science fiction adventure flick ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’. Davalos was cast as Samantha Carlton in FOX’s ‘Reunion’, a role she played from 2005 to 2006. During this time, she also starred as Sara in the TV movie ‘Surrender, Dorothy’.
In 2007, the actress played the role of Chloe Barlow in the drama movie ‘Feast of Love’ which also starred Morgan Freeman, Radha Mitchell, Greg Kinnear, Billy Burke and Selma Blair. That year, she also had a role in ‘The Mist,’ a sci-fi horror based on Stephen King’s 1980 book of the same name. After this, Davalos played Lilka Ticktin in the war film ‘Defiance’ which released in 2008. Two years later, she was cast as Andromeda in ‘Clash of the Titans’, an action adventure fantasy movie that grossed $493 million worldwide despite receiving negative reviews from critics. It earned two Golden Raspberry Award nominations. Following a role in the neo-noir crime drama ‘Mob City’, Davalos joined the cast of ‘The Man in the High Castle’ as Juliana Crain. After playing the role from 2015 to 2018, she featured in two episodes of the web television series ‘The Punisher’ in 2019.

Alexa Davalos was born on May 28, 1982, in Paris, France to Jeff Dunas and Elyssa Davalos. Her mother, who is of Finnish and Spanish descent, worked as a television and movie actress. Her father is a photographer who is known for his portraits of entertainers. Alexa Davalos is a granddaughter of actor Richard Davalos and a maternal niece of rock singer and bassist Dominique Davalos. Her parents separated when she was just eight years old.
Davalos attended Hebrew School and later New York’s Flea Theater. She is close friends with actress Amanda Elizabeth Righetti, and served as a bridesmaid at her wedding.
