Alejandra Silva Biography

Alejandra Maria Silva García-Baquero is a Spanish activist, publicist, and an entrepreneur, who recently came into the limelight after getting married to American actor Richard Gere. Silva was previously married to the son of Chicago-born mining billionaire Robert Friedland. She is an avid activist who is involved with various human rights issues. In the past, she worked closely with the RAIS Foundation for the Homeless in Spain. She has also worked with several other charitable organizations. Silva is known for her association with the Real Madrid Football Club as well. With the club, she worked to create football leagues which encourage underprivileged children to take up the sport. As a humanitarian, she has also worked for the betterment of the living conditions of refugee children and the victims of wars. After living a low-profile life for most of her life, she garnered much media attention after becoming romantically involved with Gere.
