Charles Le Brun was a French physiognomist, painter, and art theorist. He served as the director of many popular art schools of his time. He also served as the court painter to Louis the Great, who called him the greatest French artist. An influential artist of 17th-century France, Charles Le Brun's works are still preserved in the popular Louvre Museum. 

David Teniers the Younger was a Flemish Baroque painter, draughtsman, printmaker, staffage painter, miniaturist painter, copyist, and art curator. A prolific and versatile artist, Teniers was considered an innovator in a variety of genres such as genre painting, history painting, portrait, landscape painting, and still life. Today, he is remembered as the most important Flemish genre painter of his generation.

Scottish Quaker leader Robert Barclay is best remembered for his written work An Apology for the True Christian Divinity. His close friendship with James II, Duke of York, helped him secure the land of East Jersey for himself and his several Quaker friends who had been facing persecution back then.

Edo period Japanese potter Ninsei was closely associated with Kyō ware. Known for painting his ceramic ware in vibrant colors, he was commissioned to decorate temple complexes and create tea ceremony wares, such as intricately designed tea-leaf jars. He was trained at the Awata-guchi and Seto kilns.

Japanese painter Kusumi Morikage of the Edo-period was the official painter of Maeda clan. His works reflected his feelings and sympathy for farmers and the poor people of the time. His daughter, Kiyohara Yukinobu, was a leading painter identified with the Kanō school. Notable paintings of Morikage include Family Enjoying the Evening Cool and Falconry Folding Screens.
