Bill Brown was an Australian cricketer who played 22 Test matches between 1934 and 1948, captaining his country in one Test. Known as a right-handed opening batsman, he formed a formidable partnership with Jack Fingleton in the 1930s. A member of "The Invincibles" team that toured England in 1948 without defeat, Brown was also a victim of the first "Mankading" incident. He achieved success in first-class cricket, earning recognition as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year for his outstanding performances.
