Christina Sunrise Coigney is a French-American former actress and a businesswoman who is married to American actor Mark Alan Ruffalo. Coigney started her career as an actress and appeared in television shows like ‘100 Center Street’ and ‘Line of Fire’. She also appeared in two thriller films, ‘Campfire Stories’ and ‘In the Cut’, in the early 2000s. However, Coigney didn’t pursue her acting career for long. Following the birth of her children, she decided to focus more on her family. She took care of the family during the difficult times following her husband’s diagnosis with a brain tumor and his subsequent recovery. The family also went through a terrible tragedy when her brother-in-law, Scott Ruffalo, was shot in his apartment. Coigney was the one who held everything together and helped her husband deal with the challenging times. Later on, once her family situation stabilized, she opened a jewelry store in Los Angeles. Currently, along with being a homemaker, she also manages her own boutique.

Career
Sunrise Coigney made her acting debut right after she got married to Mark Ruffalo. She appeared in one episode, titled ‘Domestic Abuses’, of the crime drama television show ‘100 Center Street,’ which starred Joseph Lyle Taylor, Paula Devicq, Margo Martindale, and Manny Perez in lead roles. She appeared in the show as ‘Monica Robinson’.
In 2001, she then acted in the crime drama film ‘Campfire Stories,’ directed by Bob Cea and Andrzej Krakowski. The flick featured Jamie-Lynn Sigler, John Hensley, Joshua Harto, David Johansen, and Charlie Day. Coigney portrayed the character of ‘Michelle’ in the film. Two years later, in 2003, Coigney appeared in another thriller film titled ‘In the Cut’ which also featured her husband Mark Ruffalo. The film was directed by Jane Campion and had Meg Ryan and Jennifer Jason Leigh in lead roles.
Her last appearance as an actress was in the television show ‘Line of Fire’. She appeared in two episodes, ‘Pilot’ (2003) and ‘Born to Run’ (2005), as ‘Brenda Ravelle’.
Relationship with Mark Ruffalo
Sunrise Coigney married Mark Ruffalo on June 11, 2000. She had accepted his proposal after turning him down once before. The couple has three children. Their eldest child, son Keen Ruffalo, was born in 2001. Their younger children, daughters Bella Noche and Odette, were born in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
In the early 2000s, Mark Ruffalo was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The illness resulted in a partial facial paralysis even though he managed to recover from the tumor. With treatment, Ruffalo recovered from the paralysis but lost the hearing power in his left ear. Coigney stayed by his side throughout his illness and recovery and helped Ruffalo deal with the challenging times.
The family faced another blow in 2008 when Mark Ruffalo’s younger brother, Scott Ruffalo, was shot in his condominium at Beverly Hills. He died after a few days. The case remains unsolved. Coigney provided her unconditional support to her husband as he dealt with the blow of his beloved brother’s death.
After being a dedicated homemaker for a while, she eventually opened a jewelry store in Los Angeles. Along with her husband, she also runs the boutique ‘Caviar and Kid.’
