Relationship with Ole & Married Life
Silje and Ole’s relationship began long back in 1992. They two met each other for the first time in Kristiansund, Norway. At the time, Ole played for the 'Clausenengen Football Club.' Silje, too, was a footballer back then and played for the same club. The two grew close to each other over their football training sessions. In an interview, Ole went down the memory lane and recalled that he had a football training group for children. The training session for the group would usually start early in the morning. Ole was too old to go to the sessions, but he would still visit them just to see Silje. He was hopelessly in love with her, and he eventually expressed his feelings. Unfortunately, their relationship ended when Ole joined the mandatory military services. Reportedly, during that period, Silje had fallen out of love.
Thankfully, the hiatus did not last long, as Silje and Ole rekindled their love soon after. They had a simple and low-key wedding in 2004 in Florida, followed by a lavish honeymoon in the Caribbean. The newlywed couple enjoyed spending time on the beach and by the pool. In one of the interviews that Silje had given before marriage, she confessed that being with Ole was the best decision she had ever made. She had fallen for his kind and thoughtful nature. The pair is blessed with three children: their elder son Noah, their daughter, Karna, and their younger son, Elijah. During Ole’s stint in England, the family lived in Bramhall, the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Silje had stayed with Ole for all the games he had played for 'Manchester United' from 1996 till until he left in 2007. Ole’s retirement was due to a severe knee injury, but Silje’s love and support prevented him from being disappointed. While Ole continued to work for 'Manchester United,' Silje and their children had to live apart from him. Ole has always acknowledged her role as a doting wife and mother in shaping his career. Silje has always supported Ole in his profession. All his life, Ole had to shift to different places for his job but always found Silje by his side. After Ole was announced as the permanent manager of 'Manchester United' in March 2019, he and his family moved to their house in Nether Alderley, a leafy Cheshire parish between Alderley Edge and Macclesfield. The construction of the Cheshire parish had begun in 2007.

In the Media
The Solskjærs have been friends with the Beckhams since they moved to the UK in 1996. While Ole befriended David over football, Silje and Victoria became friends while cheering for their husbands. Silje and Ole had attended Victoria and David’s wedding at ‘Luttrellstown Castle’ in July 1999. On the big day, Silje had sported the same spiky short crop hairstyle that the popular 'Spice Girl' member “Posh Spice” (Victoria) had at the time. Silje’s elder son, Noah, was Brooklyn Beckham's nursery classmate. Silje, Ole, and Noah were spotted by the paparazzi while leaving Brooklyn's third birthday party at Manchester's ‘Film Works.' The families have also started a property empire that is now worth £5 million. The Solskjær couple also attended Phil Neville’s wedding held in Rawtenstall, a town in Lancashire, in 1999. Back in 2000, Silje was pictured at Noah’s christening ceremony held at ‘Grip Stave Church’ in Kristiansund. An avid shopper, Silje was often spotted around the ‘St. Ann's Square’ in Manchester, which is a favorite of most “WAGs” (wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportspersons).
Silje and Ole co-own a Cheshire mansion which they bought when Ole was a 'Manchester United' player. The current value of the property is estimated to be approximately around £4 million. They also own a sea-facing mansion with an outdoor swimming pool in their hometown of Kristiansund, worth £1 million. The property has a Hollywood-style sign honoring Ole and reads “20 Legend,” referring to his 'Manchester United' jersey number. Silje and Ole prefer staying in their peaceful and naturally beautiful hometown, Kristiansund.
In January 2019, Silje and Ole attended an auction event for noble causes. Ole gave away his custom-made, limited-edition squad watch at the auction. It was sold to a fan for £35,000.
Trivia
Silje has a brother named Ole Lyngvaer who played football and had scored twice in a ‘Norwegian Cup’ semifinal in 1990. In 2014, Ole gave him a job at Cardiff's youth academy.
