Sasha Luss is a Russian model and actor. She was born in Magadan but later moved to Moscow. As a child, she loved ballet, but an injury prevented her from becoming a professional ballerina. Motivated by her mother, Sasha joined the modeling industry at 13. A year later, she signed with IQ Models in Moscow. At 16, Sasha walked the ramp for the first time. Over the years, she has graced the covers of major fashion magazines such as Vogue and Numéro. She has also appeared in campaigns for brands such as Chanel, Valentino, and Dior. Sasha has worked with top-notch photographers such as Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, and Karl Lagerfeld. She has won numerous fashion awards, too. Childhood & Early Life

Sasha Luss was born Alexandra Luss, on June 6, 1992, in Magadan, Magadan Oblast. She later shifted to Moscow.

As a child, Sasha was not too keen on becoming a model. She would instead spend time writing or dancing. She often took part in ballet contests. However, an ankle injury ended her dreams of becoming a ballet dancer.

Meanwhile, her mother’s friends would often compliment Sasha on her modeling skills. At 13, she was taken to a modeling agency by her mother and eventually signed with them.

Sasha later revealed that her grandmother was against this move and perceived modeling as an immoral industry.

Sasha Luss has, over the years, proved herself to be one of the most successful models of not just Russia but the world, too. She has been part of campaigns for top-notch brands such as Chanel, Valentino, Dior, Lanvin, Balmain, Tommy Hilfiger, LA Perla, Oscar de la Renta, Max Mara, Carolina Herrera, Moschino, and Moncler.

She has appeared on the cover of Numéro four times. She has been featured on the cover of Vogue Russia twice, including their 13th-anniversary issue. Sasha has also been featured on the cover of Vogue Italia. In May 2015, Sasha was featured on the cover of Vogue China.

She has worked with some of the most popular fashion photographers of the world, such as Steven Meisel, Inez and Vinoodh, Peter Lindbergh, Karl Lagerfeld, Mert and Marcus, Paolo Roversi, Willy Vanderperre, Patrick Demarchelier, and Steven Klein.

It all began when at 14, Luss was signed by IQ Models in Moscow. After turning 16, she walked the ramp for the first time, participating in a fashion show for Alena Akhmadullina, showcasing the Spring/Summer collection during the Moscow Fashion Week 2008.

In 2008, she earned multiple shoots for Vogue Russia and L'Officiel Russia. She was soon signed by DNA Model Management. The agency took her to Europe and New York, where she walked for world-renowned brands such as Antonio Marras and DKNY.

However, she felt she was not getting her due in the world of fashion, which prompted her to get back to Russia to complete her education. Sasha then signed with Women Management in Milan and with Elite Model Management in Paris. She left IQ Models in 2011 and joined Avant Models.

The same year, Sasha worked with Karl Lagerfeld for an ad campaign for the Russian brand Bohemique. Lagerfield was impressed with her talent and decided to feature Sasha in his 2012 Chanel pre-Fall and Fall/Winter shows.

The next season, she worked with Dior for their Spring/Summer 2013 show. She was part of 58 shows throughout the Fall/Winter season that year and represented global brands such as Valentino, Calvin Klein, Prada, Givenchy, and Louis Vuitton. chose Sasha as one of the top newcomers of the season. She also appeared in ads for Max Mara, Carolina Herrera, and Valentino.

Soon, Sasha dyed her hair platinum blonde, and that became a fashion statement for young girls. Glamour Russia awarded her the "Model of the Year" honor in 2013.

In the Spring/Summer season in 2014, Sasha participated in 53 shows. Soon, she became a brand ambassador of Dior Beauty. She was also part of the ad campaign for the 2014 Fall/Winter Versace jeans.

Steven Meisel shot Sasha for the 2015 Pirelli Calendar. The following year, she was part of Olivier Rousteing's All Star Cast for the Balmain Fall/Winter 2016 promotional campaign, which also had stars such as Kim Kardashian. Sasha later left Women Management to sign a contract with IMG Models.

In 2017, Sasha Luss appeared as Princess Lihö-Minaa in the movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

She had a lead role in the 2019 action-thriller film Anna. The movie featured Sasha as Anna Poliatova, a Russian spy disguised as a model. Luc Besson, who wrote and directed Anna, encouraged Sasha to attend the acting classes of celebrity coach Susan Batson. Besson also asked her to tone down her Russian accent for the film.

However, the release of Anna was initially disrupted due to allegations of sexual harassment and assault on Luc Besson made by nine women. Though Lionsgate had bought the U.S. rights of Anna in October 2017, they put their plans to release it on hold after the allegations became public. However, 2 months after the probe ended, the film got its final release date.

Sasha Luss is a health-conscious person and is often found doing “Yogilates,” a combination of Pilates and “hatha yoga.” She, however, mostly works out at home, watching videos by a Russian instructor. She mostly drinks water and green juices, with lots of lemon and ginger.

People often tell her that she resembles Canadian actor Tricia Helfer. In her leisure time, Sasha likes attending exhibitions and reading.

Sasha now stays in New York. She once expressed her displeasure with the world of modeling and said that she felt overlooked by the industry. She also said that she did not like the fact that the industry was being dominated by Instagram influencers.


Sasha Luss has had at least two serious relationships in the past.

From late 2015 to the summer of 2016, she dated Miloš Biković, a popular Serbian actor and producer. They appeared in a couple photoshoot for Vogue Russia.

Sasha was later accused by the media of cheating on Miloš, as she was photographed kissing an unknown man on a beach in Miami before she made her split with Miloš official. The pictures were circulated on the internet, and she became a target of trolls.

Miloš later declared in a statement that Sasha and he had decided to split mutually some time back and that she had the freedom of doing whatever she wished with her life.

Sasha Luss had previously dated a Frenchman named Paul Dupuy. They were often seen together in 2013. A photo of the two kissing each other at a fashion event had gone viral on the internet.

After her breakup with Miloš, Sasha was linked with David Koma, a renowned Georgian fashion designer. Sasha’s social-media profiles showed a lot of their pictures together.
