Samantha Logan Biography

Samantha Logan was born on October 27, 1996, in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. She is of Irish descent from her mother’s side and of Trinidadian ancestry from her father’s side.

Her parents split when she was still quite young. Following this, Samantha was raised by her mother, Colleen Logan. At 10, she convinced her mother to move to Manhattan, New York, only to follow her love for acting.

She joined the Professional Performing Arts (middle) School to study musical theater and then attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia Arts (Fame) to complete her high-school studies, eventually majoring in drama. She had the opportunity to work as a protégé for well-known choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Laurieann Gibson, Brian Friedman, and Dave Scott.

While in New York, Samantha Logan was part of national commercials, theater, and live vocal and dance performances.

In 2009, she appeared in an episode of the teen drama Gossip Girl. In 2011, she was seen as Lola in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. The same year, she appeared in the film Detachment.

Samantha Logan got her first breakthrough role at 14, in ABC's supernatural drama 666 Park Avenue, which featured her as series regular Nona Clark in seven episodes (2012–2013). In 2013, she played Taylor DuBois in the ABC medical drama General Hospital. The following year, she was featured as Heather in the comedy film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

In 2014, she appeared as Stella in the sitcom Melissa & Joey and as Violet in Teen Wolf. She then appeared as Tia Stephens in seven episodes of The Fosters (2014–2015). She also played Imani Rogers in Members Only, a 2015 series that eventually remained unaired. The same year, she also played Emma in the pilot Studio City.

In 2016, she was seen in one-episode roles in Comedy Bang! Bang! (as Jade) and in NCIS (as Riley Davis). The same year, she appeared as Cassidy in the pilot Cruel Intentions.

However, the recurring role of Nina Jones in the popular Netflix teen series 13 Reasons Why made her a household name. The series was based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name. Samantha appeared in 13 episodes of the second season of the series, in 2018.

She was then cast in the leading role of Olivia Baker in the 2018 series All American. The sports-drama series, based on the life of professional American footballer Spencer Paysinger (portrayed as Spencer James and played by Daniel Ezra), aired on The CW. It was renewed for another season, in 2019. The series also featured Bre-Z and Greta Onieogou among others. In January 2020, the makers announced a third season.

Samantha was also seen as Kasey in the horror film Polaroid (2019). She is all set to appear as Davara Walsh in The Empty Man (2020), another horror film, which is in its post-production stage.

Samantha Logan began dating actor Dylan Sprayberry, her Teen Wolf co-star, in 2017. Dylan is also known for his role in the film Man of Steel. Dylan and Samantha were often seen sharing their pictures together on social media. During Christmas 2018, Samantha shared a photo of them on Instagram, with the caption “2013 -> 2018.”

On February 14, 2019, she posted a picture of them doing pottery together, with the caption “Happy Valentine’s Day” and then added “I love this goober so much it hurts." However, it is rumored that the two have broken up. They have not shared any pictures of each other on their respective social-media accounts for a long time.

Samantha Logan is an animal lover. She has a ragdoll cat named Zoe and a Shih Tzu named Maximus.

She enjoys creating video shorts in her leisure time and aspires to become a filmmaker someday.

She was initially considered for the role of MacKensie in I Hate My Teenage Daughter, aired on FOX. The role, however, went to Aisha Dee.

Samantha is part of many charitable organizations, such as Girls Up and The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation.

She appeared alongside Dylan Minnette in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Dylan later played Clay Jensen in 13 Reasons Why, which also starred Samantha.

She owns a BMW. Samantha is also quite fond of traveling and has been to exotic destinations such as Indonesia, France, Spain, Poland, and Peru. She also worked for a charity in Peru. She has also volunteered internationally for local charities such as IVHQ and 5acres.

She is quite popular on Instagram and has 837 thousand followers on her account, _samanthalogan. On June 21, 2020, she posted an Instagram video of herself dancing to Jhené Aiko’s track Bullshit, wearing a pink mask.

She joined Twitter in July 2011. Her Twitter account, samanthalogan, has earned 39.3 thousand followers to date.
