Oona Chaplin is a Spanish–British actor, best known for her roles in TV series such as ‘The Hour,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ and ‘The Crimson Field.’ As her surname suggests, Chaplin is from a family with several talented artists. She is the granddaughter of renowned English actor Charlie Chaplin and the great-granddaughter of American playwright Eugene O’Neill. Though her familiar ties helped her get early attention, Chaplin had to create her own path in the entertainment industry, just like other actors. While in school, Chaplin was awarded a drama scholarship. She was trained in salsa and ballet. She graduated from the prestigious ‘Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’ in London. Chaplin made her screen debut with a role in an episode of the TV series ‘Spooks.’ Later, she appeared on screen alongside her mother, in ‘Inconceivable’ and ‘Imago Mortis.’ She appeared in a small role in the ‘James Bond’ movie ‘Quantum of Solace.’ Although Chaplin performed in supporting roles in several movies, she gained more recognition through TV series.
