Though Nouveau Cheap was interested in makeup since childhood, she started to blog about it in 2009. Initially in her blog, Nouveau posted about cheap and safe cosmetics that the general public can afford, and which could give a similar output as the branded ones that are only sold in departmental stores. Soon her economical drugstore makeup remedies made her popular among the online masses. She actively engages with the readers to ensure that all their doubts are cleared before they go for a particular cosmetic brand. As of today, her blog also features expensive brands, but only when there is a discount on those products! Currently, she is one of the best known makeup professionals in the digital world, and the go-to for all those who want to look beautiful and sexy like the supermodels that appear on the cover pages of those fashion magazines, but without spending a fortune! As quoted on her blog, “Yes, I'm thrifty, but this $1 lipstick was selected with laser-like precision and you'll probably think it's Chanel when you see me wearing it!". Interestingly, her blog name “Nouveau Cheap” is a play on the phrase ‘nouveau chic’ implying that one can obtain perfect looks even on a shoestring budget!

Nouveau Cheap was born in San Diego, CA on December 13, 1970. Since childhood, she was one of those little girls who would stare at the pictures of models who pose wearing glossy makeup. As she grew up, she founds ways to do good makeup without spending much. Being a lover of English literature, Nouveau decided to share her ideas with the public on her blog rather than on a YouTube channel, simply because she was better at expressing herself in writing than in speaking. Nouveau lives in San Diego with her boyfriend, who is fondly called Mr. G. She is also a fan of music, perfumes, and nail polishes.
