Nicola Peltz is an American actress who came into limelight after she portrayed the character of ‘Katara’ in the movie The Last Airbender. She also earned kudos for her performances in the TV series Bates Motel and in the fourth movie of the Transformers films series, Transformers: Age of Extinction. She had a cameo in Transformers: The Last Knight—the fifth film in the Transformers sequence. Her career got off the ground at the age of 13, when she debuted onstage in the Manhattan Theater Club’s production Blackbird. She made her debut in Deck the Halls, where she portrayed the character of Mackenzie. She made her mark on the silver screen in movies like Harold, Eye of the Hurricane, Youth in Oregon and Affluenza. Nicola Peltz's portrayal of Bradley Martin in the TV series Bates Motel was also appreciated. She has also done cameos in music videos of Zayn Malik and Miley Cyrus. She is married to Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.

Nicola Peltz was born on January 9, 1995, in Westchester County, New York, to Nelson Peltz and Claudia Heffner Peltz. Her father, Nelson Peltz, is a billionaire businessman and was an erstwhile owner of ‘Snapple’—a beverages firm—while her mother was a model.

Nicola has a total of seven siblings: one sister and four brothers older than her, and two brothers younger to her. One of her brothers, Will Peltz, is an actor while another, Brad Peltz, is an ice-hockey player. She has two step-siblings as well by virtue of his father’s earlier marriages.

She attended private schools in New York City and hired an entertainment industry agent by the time she was 12. Her agent helped her find a part in the drama Blackbird, produced by Manhattan Theater Club where she shared the stage with Alison Phil and Jeff Daniels, in 2007.

Scripted by David Harrower, and directed by Joe Mantello, Blackbird won the Laurence Olivier Award for ‘Best New Play’ in 2007 and was also nominated for several other awards.

Career

In 2006, Nicola Petz made her silver screen debut in Deck the Halls, a Yuletide comedy film, starring as Mackenzie alongside Danny DeVito, Kristin Chenoweth, and Matthew Broderick.

In 2008, she portrayed Becki in the comedy film Harold that also featured Cuba Gooding Jr., Spencer Breslin, Nikki Blonsky, and Ally Sheedy.

She appeared in a cameo in a Miley Cyrus music video for the single 7 Things, in June 2008.

In 2010, she appeared as Katara in the fantasy adventure movie The Last Airbender, directed and co-produced by Manoj Night Shyamalan. The Last Airbender was adapted from an eponymous animation series which aired on Nickelodeon. Nicole achieved fame and recognition for her performance in the movie.

Starting from 2013 till 2015, Nicole reprised the character of Bradley Martin, a distressed high school student in 14 episodes of the thriller drama series Bates Motel. Bates Motel TV series was a remake of and prequel to the horror thriller Psycho, directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock in 1960.

Nicola Peltz was not part of the lead cast in Bates Motel’s second season but reappeared as a guest star in the last three episodes of the third season.

She also attracted widespread attention and amassed appreciation from fans and critics alike owing to her poignant portrayal of Tessa Yeager in the fourth movie of the Transformers series, Transformers: Age of Extinction. The movie was the top grossing film of 2014, and the 19th motion picture in the US film history to garner revenues exceeding $1 billion, and the 16th highest grossing film ever (at that time).

She reprised her role as Tessa Yeager in the fifth chapter of the Transformers movie franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight but only as a cameo voiceover artist. The movie was not only scathingly censured by critics but also turned out to be the lowest earning film in the Transformers series.

In 2014, Nicola Peltz starred in the teen drama film Affluenza. The film, modeled on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s magnum opus The Great Gatsby, is set in an upper-class suburb of Long Island, New York City, and portrays high-society life following the global financial crisis in 2008.

Nicola Peltz strutted on the runway at the Paris Fashion Week in 2015 for Balenciaga, a chic fashion house.

In 2016, she played the character of Annie Gleason in Youth in Oregon—a black comedy film—and also made a cameo appearance in a Zayn Malik music video.
