Marissa Ribisi is an American actress known for playing Cynthia Dunn in Richard Linklater's cult film ‘Dazed and Confused’. She is also known for her appearances in the television shows ‘Tales of the City’, ‘Felicity’, ‘Watching Ellie’ and ‘Grace under Fire’. As the twin sister of popular actor Giovanni Ribisi and the wife of recording artist cum musician Beck, Ribisi has deep roots in the entertainment industry. Her father is also a musician. Through her film performances, she has successfully impressed both the national and international audiences, earning an impressive fan base across the world. Besides her involvement in the entertainment industry, she is quite active in the field of fashion and even co-owns a fashion line.

Career
Marissa Ribisi began her acting career with the television show ‘My Two Dads,’ in which she played a minor role in an episode titled ‘She'll Get Over It’ in 1988. In 1990, she made a guest appearance in the TV show ‘Baywatch’. This was followed by a few more brief appearances in the programs ‘DEA’ and ‘Tales of the City’.
Her first role in a feature movie was in the 1993 flick ‘Dazed and Confused,’ in which she starred alongside Adam Goldberg and Matthew McConaughey. In this movie, Ribisi played the role of Cynthia, a socially marginalized woman who runs away with two verbose outsiders. In 1995, Ribisi got featured in ‘The Brady Bunch Movie’. In 1998, she co-wrote the movie ‘Some Girl’ and also acted in it alongside fellow actors Michael Rapaport, Juliette Lewis and Giovanni Ribisi. This movie, directed by Rory Kelly, is about an insecure young lady who is in search of a long-term relationship. The actress was also featured in the movies ‘True Crime’ and ‘Pleasantville’ around the same period.
From 1999 to 2000, she had a role in the short-lived TV series ‘Grown Ups’ that revolved around the lives of three post-college friends. Ribisi played Dora in the flick ‘100 Girls’ in 2001. This film is about a college student (played by Jonathan Tucker) whose purpose is to find a mystery woman with whom he had sex in the dark. The same year, the actress appeared in ‘Don's Plum,’ a black and white short movie directed by R. D. Robb starring Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kevin Connolly. Ribisi has also appeared in the television dramas ‘Friends’, ‘Felicity’, ‘Grace Under Fire’, ‘Watching Ellie’ and ‘Tales of the City’.
In October 2007, she launched a fashion line named “Whitley Kros” alongside her business partner and friend Sophia Banks.
