Madison McKinley Isner is an American jewelry designer and businesswoman, better known as the wife of professional tennis player John Isner. She owns the Dallas-based jewelry company, Madison McKinley, named after her, which she had launched with her mother, Karla McKinley, back in 2016. While she is the founder, designer, and creative director of the company, her mother serves as its CEO. Her jewelry is hand-forged and designed particularly for strong-willed women. She draws inspirations for her designs during her travels, as well as from her mother, her grandmothers, blacksmith Shelby Vandenbrink at Steerhead Ranch, and her clients. Her creations were featured on an advertisment campaign for the clothing company Wrangler, with which she later collaborated as well. She has also bagged a partnership deal with Veronica Beard. An experienced horseback-rider, she loves to spend time at her family’s ranch, Steerhead Ranch, in Buffalo, Wyoming and named a collection in her jewelry line after the ranch.
Rise to Stardom
Madison McKinley Isner began her professional career as an Accessories Designer at KOCH in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in April 2009. Around the same time, she founded MadKool LLC and began working as a designer. She served as a gallery intern at the Fashion Industry Gallery in Dallas for two months in 2010 and helped in setting up for markets and assisting in galleries. For ten months from August 2013, she worked as a Sales and Marketing Intern at Jaya Apparel Group, LLC in New York City.
After completing her graduation from the University of Texas in 2014, she made a living arrangement at her family’s ranch in Buffalo for nine months. During this period she did all the work of a fulltime cowgirl and rode on horseback for 10-plus hours each day to round up the cattle. Alongside her cowgirl life, she continued to design jewelry in her spare time and began hand-forging her designs in the ranch’s workshop. She worked with her mother Karla McKinley who, according to her, has a great eye for detail. The duo later went on to establish the jewelry company Madison McKinley in Dallas, Texas in January 2016.
