Who is Madison Bailey?
Madison Bailey is an American actor, singer, and social-media influencer, best known for her role as Kiara in the 2020 Netflix series Outer Banks. She began her career with the role of Caroline in the series Constantine in 2015. She has also been part of shows such as Black Lighting and Creepshow. In early 2020, she came out as pansexual and also declared on social media that she was in a relationship with basketball player Mariah Linney. Interestingly, Madison and Mariah had met through TikTok. Madison is thus also a queer icon.
Childhood & Early Life
Madison Lilly Bailey was born on January 29, 1999, in Kernersville, North Carolina, United States of America. Madison is the youngest of the seven siblings in the family. She is also known by her nickname, “Maddie.”
She wanted to be a singer until she was 13 or 14. She then realized that she was terrified of singing in front of people. She thus chose not to pursue singing as a profession.

Madison Bailey once said that she understands the class divide shown in Outer Banks, as she has grown up in North Carolina, where the plot of Outer Banks is set (though it was filmed in South Carolina).
Madison idolizes Scarlett Johansson and dreams of working with her someday. She is also fond of Olivia Colman.
She once revealed that she had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder earlier.
Madison’s sister was seen as her stunt double in Outer Banks. Madison learned how to drive a boat and play the ukulele on the sets of Outer Banks.

Coming Out as Pansexual
In late May 2020, Madison Bailey came out as pansexual through a TikTok post that read "Nobody knows what pansexual means. Girls, boys, trans boys, trans girls, nonbinary babies. It's what's on the inside, boo."
Back in September 2019, she had already hinted at her non-binary sexual identity with a post that was captioned "Easily distracted by all genders."
While responding to questions on a mental health Q&A on Lucy Hartselle's Instagram live, Madison talked about coming out as pansexual and introducing her girlfriend on social media. She said she felt lighter while talking about her personal life on an open platform and that she was aware many queer people did not have the privilege to do so. She said she was lucky to have the support of people.
Madison Bailey is in a relationship with Mariah Linney, an ace basketball player who plays for the Charlotte 49ers. They had met each other on TikTok and had then started DM-ing each other on Instagram. Mariah is quite popular on TikTok, as mariahlinney.
Soon, Madison posted a video on TikTok that showed her singing “I'm not falling" and then ending with "Okay, I'm falling." The video then showed Madison hugging Mariah. The video received more than 13 million views.
On June 15, 2020, Mariah shared a photo of them together on Instagram, thus making their relationship official. Madison commented on the post with a ring emoji.
Mariah is in her senior year at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. She is from Goose Creek, South Carolina, and is majoring in sociology.
Mariah was named the USA Today High School Sports State Player of the Year during her senior year at the Goose Creek High School.
