Leah Marie Pipes is an American film and TV actor. She gained popularity for her portrayal of ‘Camille O’Connell’ on The CW’s series ‘The Originals.’ Born and raised in Southern California, she initially wanted to become a writer. She began her career with a guest role in the series ‘Angel’ and soon received the main role of ‘Sarah Davis’ in the ABC sitcom ‘Lost at Home.’ Pipes has also worked in a number of television movies, such as ‘Pixel Perfect,’ ‘Odd Girl Out,’ horror film ‘Fingerprints,’ romantic film ‘Her Best Move,’ and TV series ‘Clubhouse,’ ‘The Defenders,’ ‘The Deep End,’ among others. Her performance as ‘Camille O’Connell’ in The CW’s series ‘The Originals’ fetched her nomination for the ‘Teen Choice Award.’

Leah Marie Pipes was born on August 12, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, to Keith and Kristy Pipes. She is of mixed German, Irish, and English ancestry. She initially wanted to become a writer and never thought of pursuing acting as a career.

Career
Pipes made her acting debut in 2001 in the role of ‘Stephanie’ in the series ‘Angel,’ a spin-off of the TV series ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ She also appeared in the brand endorsement of ‘Nabisco’ and ‘Disneyland.’
In 2003, Pipes worked alongside Mitch Rouse, Connie Britton, and Gregory Hines in ABC sitcom ‘Lost at Home,’ in which she essayed the main role of ‘Sarah Davis.’ In 2004, she portrayed the role of ‘Samantha’ in the Disney Channel Original movie ‘Pixel Perfect.’ The same year, she was seen as ‘Mandi’ in Nickelodeon sitcom series ‘Drake & Josh’ and appeared in an episode of the crime drama series ‘Crossing Jordan’ in 2007.
During 2004-2005, she appeared in a recurring role of ‘Jessie’ in the drama TV series ‘Clubhouse,’ which also starred Jeremy Sumpter, Dean Cain, and Christopher Lloyd. In 2005, Pipes portrayed one of the girls, ‘Stacey Larson,’ in the drama TV film ‘Odd Girl Out.’
Pipes made her feature film debut in the role of ‘Melanie’ in the 2006 [released in 2008] horror film ‘Fingerprints.’ It was a gripping horror story of a small town, which saw multiple mysterious murders, in addition to the occurrence of a haunting ghost after a terrible train accident.
Pipes starred in the lead role of ‘Sara Davis’ in the 2007 romantic comedy ‘Her Best Move,’ a story of a teenage soccer sensation. She was seen in an episode of Fox TV’s ‘Bones,’ in the role of ‘Kelly Morris.’ Pipes also appeared in single episodes of ‘Ghost Whisperer,’ ‘Law & Oder: Los Angeles,’ ‘The Defenders,’ among others.
Between 2007 and 2008, Pipes worked in 12 episodes of the drama series ‘Life Is Wild,’ in which she appeared in the role of ‘Katie Clarke,’ alongside D. W. Moffett and Stephanie Niznik. She guest starred as ‘Jody’ in ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.’
In Stewart Hendler directorial horror slasher film ‘Sorority Row,’ Pipes performed as one of the leads, ‘Jessica Pierson,’ alongside Briana Evigan, Rumer Willis, Jamie Chung, Carrie Fisher, and Audrina Patridge. This was a movie about a group of sorority sisters that tries to hide a prank that has gone wrong, and are stalked by a maniac. Her work in this movie received critical accolades. In 2009, Pipes received the ShoWest ‘Female Star of Tomorrow’ award along with her ‘Sorority Row’ co-stars.
In 2010, Pipes had a recurring role of ‘Beth Branford’ in 6 episodes of ‘The Deep End.’ In 2012, she appeared in the starring role of ‘Mia’ in the romantic dance film ‘Musical Chairs.’ In the same year she worked in the supernatural horror film ‘Into the Dark’ in the role of ‘Astrid Daniels.’ Her other appearances include ‘Conception,’ ‘The Devil’s Hand,’ among others.
Her role of bartender ‘Camille O’Connell’ in The CW’s series ‘The Originals’ [2013 – 2018] earned her fame and appreciation. In this spin-off of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ she worked with Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, and Charles Michael Davis. She was a series regular for the first 3 seasons and guest starred in the fourth and fifth season of this popular series. Her performance in this fetched her nomination for the ‘Teen Choice Award’ in 2016.
In 2019, she appeared in the role of ‘Fiona’ in the series ‘Charmed,’ and as ‘Claire’ in the short film, ‘Heatstroke.’
Family & Personal Life
Pipes got engaged to her long-time boyfriend musician–actor A.J. Trauth, in January 2014. After their 11-month engagement period, the two got married on December 6, 2014, at the ‘Four Seasons Biltmore,’ Santa Barbara, California. The private wedding was attended by close family and friends. In 2019, the two filed for divorce.
Pipes is fond of animals; she has two pet dogs and a cat.
