Kathryn Erbe first starred as Patricia Reece in the 1989 drama series ‘Chicken Soup’. In the ensuing years, she appeared in numerous movies and TV films, such as ‘What About Bob’, ‘Rich in Love’, ‘D2: The Mighty Ducks’, ‘Breathing Lessons’, ‘The Addiction’, ‘Kiss of Death’ and ‘Dream with the Fishes’ and also acted in various plays like 'The Grapes of Wrath', 'The Speed of Darkness' and 'A Month in the Country'.

The actress was then cast for the projects ‘Love from Ground Zero’ and ‘Naked City: Justice with a Bullet’ in 1998. That year, she also began playing Shirley Bellinger in ‘Oz’. Soon after this, Erbe had roles in the films ‘Entropy’ and ‘Stir of Echoes’. She next joined the cast of ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ as Det. Alexandra Eames, a role she played until 2011.
