Career

Joshua had an inclination toward sports from the very beginning. Joshua used to play all kinds of sports. During his teens, he concentrated mostly on cricket though. By the time he was in high school, cricket had taken centre stage. Back then, Joshua’s sole aim was to get a place in the national cricket team.

His hard work and passion for cricket resulted in his selection to the South Western Districts’ ‘Under-19' team. He was selected as batsman and left-arm fast bowler. He played against some of the top teams from other provinces. Joshua was very hopeful to get selected in the 'National Under-19' team. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it to the team.

Joshua moved to the United Kingdom and played with 'Burslem Cricket Club,' Stoke-on-Trent. He played under the club for the next six months. He was happy and satisfied to play the game again. He was also getting paid for the matches. His best friend, Caspar, was also residing there, and they used to spend a lot of time together discussing their respective career plans. After six months, Joshua returned to Cape Town where he continued playing cricket. He also offered cricket coaching to kids and simultaneously worked at a restaurant to support his finances.

In 2015, he moved to London to give his cricket career a boost. His plan was to join a cricket club to get more exposure. But to his disappointment, nothing of that sort happened and after around a month, his health deteriorated. His dreams shattered when the doctor diagnosed 'Glandular Fever' and asked him to take complete rest. On the brighter side, this adverse situation opened a new avenue for Joshua.

Personal Life

Joshua Pieters was born on September 17, 1993, in Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa. He has an elder brother named Jonty and a sister named Danielle.

Joshua owes his YouTube career to his best friend, Caspar. It was because of his encouragement that Joshua became a vlogger. Josh was 14 when he first met him. It was a tennis match that Joshua lost to Caspar. He did not like Caspar much after the first meeting. A few days later, Josh again met Caspar in the school. The awkwardness developed after the first meeting vanished soon and they became best of friends.

Joshua has now completely shifted his focus to his social media career, but he still takes out time for cricket, his first love after all!
