Joseph Mawle is an English actor, who is known for his role of Benjen Stark in the TV series ‘Game of Thrones’. Born in Oxford, England, Mawle studied acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He initially appeared in theatrical works, and his first major role was seen in `Troilus and Cressida’, playing the titular character of Troilus. He also appeared in television films such as `Soundproof’, and `Dunkirk’. He was also later seen on the big screen in feature films such as `Made in Dagenham`’ and `Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter`. He earned popularity for starring in `Game of Thrones`, a popular British fantasy drama series, that has gained a cult status worldwide. Other TV shows he is known for include `Troy: Fall of a City’, in which he played Odysseus, a main character.

- Joseph Mawle was born on 21st March 1974, in Oxford, Oxfordshire, in England. His father was a farmer, and his mother was a teacher. He was dyslexic from an early age, and so he attended a boarding school for special needs from the age of 13 to 16.He graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2002, before he began his acting career.
