James Gregory Vaughan, Jr. is an American actor who is known for his role of Eric Brady in the soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Diego Guttierrez in ‘The Young and the Restless,’ and Lucky Spencer in ‘General Hospital.’ His good looks and acting talent have made him a household name in the American television world. He started out as a model but after three years of struggling and living out of a suitcase, his mother convinced him to follow his dream of becoming an actor. So, he moved to Los Angeles and joined an acting school and soon started getting roles. In an acting career spanning over two decades, Greg has mostly done television shows. However, this is not to say that his movies have not been appreciated by the audiences. He is also a family man who loves to play golf and basketball. He likes hiking, horseback riding, and windsurfing as well.

Greg Vaughan was still in high school when he participated in a community back-to-school fashion show and was signed by a local modeling agent. After graduating from Mesquite High School in 1991, he got a modeling offer in Milan, Italy. He went on to model for the legendary designers Gianni Versace and Giorgio Armani. His resume as a model also includes modeling assignments for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Banana Republic.
After three years of modeling, he decided to follow his true passion, acting. In 1993, he enrolled in an acting school in Los Angeles and soon started getting commercials. In 1996, Greg Vaughan landed his first role in an episode of ‘Baywatch.’ He soon got his first major role in a television series, ‘Malibu Shores.’ The actor essayed the role of Josh Walker, which became very popular. ‘Malibu Shores’ was a teen soap opera that focused on the clash between the wealthy and the working-class teenage crowds in Malibu.
Greg Vaughan’s next role was that of Cliff Yeager in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ (1996-97). His role earned him popularity and he soon landed his first movie role in ‘Poison Ivy: The New Seduction’ (1997). His next movie was ‘No Small Ways’ (1997) and this was followed by ‘Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror’ (1998).
On the television front, Greg Vaughan made guest appearances in many television series, including ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ (1997), ‘Nash Bridges’ (2000), and ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ (2002). From 1999-2000, he starred as Dan Gordon in the popular television show, ‘Charmed.’
In 2002, he moved on to regular roles when he secured the role of Diego Guttierrez in the TV series ‘The Young and the Restless.’ He became quite famous for his looks, and in 2002, ‘People Magazine’ named him ‘One of the Sexiest Men Alive.’ In 2003, he got his next big role in ‘General Hospital,’ in which he essayed the role of Lucky Spencer, which he played till 2009.
His next major role came in 2012, when he landed the popular role of Eric Brady in ‘Days of Our Lives.’ As Eric Brady, he gained a massive fan following before leaving the show in 2015. He took up another big role in 2016. His role of Calvin in ‘Queen Sugar’ (2016) became very popular. The show was produced and directed by Ava DuVernay, and Oprah Winfrey was the executive producer. In 2018, he returned to ‘Days of Our Lives’ and earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Series.
He has been signed for the role of Billy in UPTV’s upcoming ‘A Very Country Wedding.’ This television movie is a sequel to ‘A Very Country Christmas’ (2017). Fans have been patiently waiting for the sequel because they are eager to learn how the lives of Jeannette and Zane, the main characters, turned out.

In 2000, he briefly dated Alyssa Milano, who was his co-star in ‘Charmed.’ In 2006, he married Touriya Haoud. They have three kids together. Their first son, Jathan Vaughan, was born in 2007, followed by Cavan Vaughan in 2010 and Landan Vaughan in 2012. They were divorced in 2014.
It is speculated that in 2017, Greg Vaughan started dating Angie Harmon, who is known for her role in ‘Rizzoli & Isles.’ Their association goes back to his modelling years and they had stayed in touch as friends. Sometime in 2017, their friendship turned into love. She was earlier married to Jason Sehorn and has three daughters with him. Vaughan and Harmon’s blended family is often compared to the famous ‘Brady Bunch’ because he brings three sons and she brings three daughters to this relationship.
