Emma Dumont is an American actress who has gained fame for her performances in TV series, such as ‘Bunheads’, ‘Aquarius’, and ‘The Gifted’. She is also an accomplished dancer and model. Emma Dumont began receiving ballet lesson when she was three years old and learn the dance from various prestigious institutions. At one point, she had to be homeschooled because of her thriving modelling and acting career. At age six, she started acting in community theatre and later spent four summers studying musical theatre at 5th Avenue Theatre. Dumont made her screen debut in the 2009 comedy-drama film ‘True Adolescents’. Two years later, she appeared in her first TV project, the telefilm ‘Metro’. In the ensuing years, she did a number of indie films while simultaneously establishing herself as an A-list television actress. Dumont is part of Mensa (the largest and oldest high IQ society in the world) and has served as the captain of FIRST Robotics Competition Team 980 at the 2013 Los Angeles Regional Competition, where she became a FIRST Dean’s List Finalist.

Career
Emma Dumont began modelling when she was quite young. She did a lot of catalogue work and was featured on runways shows in Seattle, Washington. At age 13, she was spotted by a modelling agent on a bus. Since then, she has walked on the ramps of New York Fashion Week; travelled to cities like Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo for work; and appeared on the pages of Elle and V Magazine.
In the early years of her acting career, Dumont used her birth name. The first project for which she was credited as Emma Dumont was Academy Award winner Stephen Gaghan's NBC pilot ‘Metro’. Her first on-screen appearance occurred in writer/director Craig Johnson’s 2009 film ‘True Adolescents’. In 2012, she began playing Melanie "Mel" Segal in ‘Bunheads’, Freeform’s comedy-drama series about ballet. While the show brought her considerable exposure, it was cancelled after airing 18 episodes. In 2013, she appeared in the short film ‘EXISTend’. She starred in two films in 2014, biographical drama ‘Starving in Suburbia’ and neo-noir drama ‘Inherent Vice’. Later that year, she worked with Ashley Judd and Ryan McPartlin in Jeffrey Reiner’s TV movie ‘Salvation’. In 2016, Dumont guest-starred in the season-four episode ‘Girl Code’ of Freeform’s family-drama series ‘The Fosters’.
Between 2015 and 2016, she was a member of the main cast of the NBC Period crime-drama ‘Aquarius’. In 2017, she made guest appearances in Syfy’s fantasy series ‘The Magicians’ and in Freeform’s teen drama mystery thriller series ‘Pretty Little Liars’. That year, she shared screen space with Erica Dasher and Kyle Jones in the horror thriller ‘The Body Tree’.
Emma Dumont joined the cast of go90’s web series ‘T@gged’ in the second season of the show in 2017. Her character, Zoe Desaul, initially appears to be charming and kind and develops a quick friendship with the protagonist Rowan Fricks (Lulu Antariksa). However, in the season-two finale, she reveals herself to be the leader of The Zoo, a violent online vigilante group.
From 2017 to 2019, she portrayed Lorna Dane/Polaris, a mutant with a strong sense of loyalty and courage in Fox’s superhero series ‘The Gifted’. Dumont starred opposite Rumer Willis in Rob Gardner’s 2019 thriller film ‘What Lies Ahead’.

Emma Dumont was born Emma Noelle Roberts on November 15, 1994, in Seattle, Washington,. She was a student of Washington Middle School and James A. Garfield High School. Later, her family decided to homeschool her as her modelling and acting schedule became more hectic. She also studied at Orange County High School of the Arts in the Music and Theater Conservatory in Santa Ana, California. She has received ballet training from Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Cornish College of the Arts, and Spectrum Dance Theatre School (The Academy - pre-professional program). She has also taken summer courses at American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet School, and the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia. When she was six years old, she performed for the first time in community theatre and acted at venues like Seattle Public Theatre and Seattle Musical Theatre. For four summers, she studied musical theatre at 5th Avenue Theatre.
Emma Dumont is a member of Mensa, the biggest and oldest IQ society in the world. She took part in For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics, representing a team backed by NASA/JPL and Walt Disney Imagineering. She intends to study mechanical engineering in future.
Dumont was said to be in a relationship with her ‘T@gged’ co-star Lukas Gage, in 2017.
