Daren Maxwell Kagasoff is an American actor famous for his role of Ricky Underwood in the teen drama series ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’. He was born in Encino, California, in the US. He decided to become an actor when he was pursuing his education at the San Francisco State University. He began his acting career with the lead role in the local play ‘Suburbia’. Later, during an audition, he managed to impress producer Brenda Hampton which landed him a main role in ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager,’ a teen drama series that aired on ABC. It was met with mixed reviews initially though later the reviews became more positive. It eventually won the Teen Choice Award for ‘Choice Summer TV Show’. Kagasoff himself was nominated for six Teen Choice Awards for his performance, out of which he won one. He then played a significant role in the supernatural horror film ‘Ouija’. His most recent work is a guest role in the crime drama series ‘S.W.A.T.’

Career
Daren Kagasoff’s career began with a main role in ‘Suburbia’, a play by Eric Bogosian. The plot revolves around what ensues when a few aimless youths, who are in their twenties, get reunited with a former classmate who has become a successful musician.
Later he started auditioning for roles on TV and movies. He managed to impress producer Brenda Hampton during an audition and she offered him a main role in the teen drama series ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’. It ran on ABC for five seasons from 2008 to 2013. He played the role of a popular guy named Ricky Underwood, who gets a fifteen-year-old girl named Amy Juergens pregnant, which leads to a lot of commotion. The series was initially met with mixed reviews though later it became more positive.
In 2014, he played one of the main roles in the supernatural horror film ‘Ouija’. Directed by Stiles White, the film was about a few teenagers who unleash spirits into the world through an Ouija board. Though the film was a huge success commercially, earning more than $100 million on a budget of $5 million, it was met with poor reviews. He next starred in the TV series ‘Red Band Society’ in a supporting role. He played the role of Hunter Cole, a leukemia survivor who is currently suffering from cirrhosis. The show aired from 2014 to 2015, covering thirteen episodes. He was most recently seen in 2017, in a guest role in the crime drama TV series ‘S.W.A.T.’ In 2019, he is set to appear in the drama series ‘The Village’ in a main role.

Daren Kagasoff was born on 16th September 1987 in Encino, California, in the US. His father is Barry Kagasoff, a diamond merchant, while his mother is Elise Kagasoff. He is the second of three children. His siblings are Justin and Natalie.
He studied at Montclair High School, from where he graduated in 2005. He used to be an active baseball player. It was while he was studying at the San Francisco State University that he made the decision to become an actor.
He is currently known to be single.
