Dakota Lewis ventured into social media following in the footsteps of his sisters, particularly Madison, who had earned a significant fan following on her TikTok profile with the handle @mads.yo in her early teens. She had joined the platform when it was still known as Musical.ly, and as she gained popularity, her siblings began to feature on her videos regularly. Dakota himself has a TikTok profile with the handle @dakotalewis_, on which he had initially posted only a couple videos, but has become more active in recent times. He mostly posts lip syncing and dance videos on the platform, and is sometimes accompanied by his sister Madison. He began posting on Instagram on March 12, 2019, sharing a picture of him standing beneath the sign of Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California, along with the caption, "never be afraid to try something new…" Since then, he has only posted a handful of pictures of himself from various places, including Disney California Adventure Park. Dakota Lewis was born on December 24, 2002 in Arizona, United States. The second child among triplets, he was born between his two sisters, Riley and Madison. His mother Tiffany is a fashion designer, while his father Steve works in construction. The family later moved to California where they currently live. Both his sisters are active on various social media platforms and Madison is the most popular one among the three siblings. Riley and Madison have also dabbled into acting and played the roles of Quinn Forrester and Birdie Kaye, respectively, on the Brat YouTube series 'Chicken Girls' and its spin-off film 'Chicken Girls: The Movie', starring Annie LeBlanc. While his sister Madison promptly dismisses him as obnoxious, he thinks of himself as someone who does not dwell on missed opportunities and considers summer to be a state of mind.

Dakota was previously involved in a relationship with TikTok star Arianna Flowers. He has been dating Emilee Herron since late 2018.
