Colin Ford is an American actor and voice actor, known for his portrayal of ‘Sam Winchester’ in the TV series ‘Supernatural’ and also as the voice of ‘Jake’ in the series ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates.’ With appearances in a number of interesting films and TV series, he earned fame at a young age. He was born and raised in Tennessee, US, and showed keen interest in acting since childhood. As a child he started modeling for print advertisements and acted in his first film when he was just 5 years old. He continued his acting journey through various movies and TV series, including films, such as ‘The Work and the Glory,’ ‘Dog days of Summer,’ ‘We Bought a Zoo,’ and TV series such as ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Under the Dome,’ ‘American Dad,’ among others. Ford has also worked as a voice actor for a number of such projects, including ‘Sophia the First,’ ‘Family Guy’ and ‘Christmas is Here Again.’ His work has earned him a number of nominations and awards.

Childhood & Early Life
Colin Ford was born on September 12, 1996, in Nashville, Tennessee, US. Not much information is available about his parents. It is, however, reported that he has a younger brother. He studied at ‘Campbell Hall School’ with his ‘We Bought a Zoo’ co-star, Elle Fanning, and graduated in June 2015.
He had an inclination towards working in front of the camera from his early childhood. He got his first modeling assignment at the age of 4 in Atlanta, Georgia, and appeared in print advertisements. With his good looks and talent, he modeled for several regional and national retailers.

Career
Ford made his film debut at the age of 5, as ‘Clinton Jr.’ in the 2002 film ‘Sweet Home Alabama.’ In this romantic comedy about a fashion designer torn between two men, he shared the screen with veteran actor Reese Witherspoon.
In 2003, he portrayed the role of ‘Lloyd Christmas’ in the film ‘Dumb and the Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.’ This was followed by the 2004 film ‘The Work and the Glory’ in which he performed the role of ‘Matthew Steed.’ He appeared in ‘Moved’ in the same year.
In 2005, he was a part of an important photo-shoot for ‘W Magazine’ with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. He got a guest starring role in Tom Welling’s TV series ‘Smallville’ (2005), for which he traveled to Vancouver with the cast. In 2005, he reprised the role of ‘Matthew Steed’ in the second part of ‘The Work and the Glory II: American Zion.’
In the 2007 escapade movie ‘In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale,’ Ford played the role of ‘Zeph’ while Jason Statham and Claire Forlani essayed the roles of his parents. During the same period he worked as a voice actor for the films, such as ‘The Ant Bully’ (2006) and ‘Christmas is Here Again’ (2007). In the latter, he gave his voice to ‘Dart the reindeer’ and performed with other such artists as Kathy Bates, Andy Griffith, Jay Leno, Shirley Jones among others. He received a nomination for his work in this film.
He got a major break as ‘Jackson Patch’ in the 2008 movie ‘Dog Days of Summer,’ wherein he co-starred with Will Patton. He also played lead role as ‘DJ’ in the movie ‘Ticket Out’ (2010).
Ford first entered the ‘Supernatural’ series in 2007 as ‘Young Sam Winchester’ in the season 3 episode ‘A Very Supernatural Christmas.’ This was followed by more appearances in the episodes, such as ‘After School Special,’ and ‘When the Levee Breaks’ (In season 4, 2009), ‘Dart Side of the Moon’ (In season 5, 2010), ‘The Girl Next Door’ (In season 7, 2011), and ‘The Devil in the Details’ (In season 11, 2016).
He performed the role of ‘Jack’ in the 2009 movie ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and won an award for this performance. In 2012, he appeared in two television series – as ‘Michael’ in ‘Revolution’ and as ‘Sam Cooper’ in ‘The Mob Doctor.’
Ford played the role of ‘Dylan Mee’ in Cameron Crowe’s ‘We Bought a Zoo’ (2011), a film about a family which bought a neglected zoo to fix and restart it. In this film, Matt Damon plays Ford’s father and the other co-stars are Scarlett Johansson and Elle Fanning.
As a voice actor, he provided his voice for Seth MacFarlane’s 2010-2017 television series ‘Family Guy.’ In the 2013 -2014 animated TV series ‘Sophia the First,’ he gave his voice to ‘Axel’ and ‘Prince Hugo.’ Ford came to be known as the voice of ‘Jake’ with the television series ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates’ (2011 – 2013). He received a ‘Young Artist Award’ for this performance.
In Steven Spielberg’s ‘Under the Dome’ (2013-2015), Ford essayed the role of ‘Joe McAlister,’ one of the people trapped inside a town covered by an invisible dome and his parents are outside the impenetrable dome.
In 2017, he appeared in two television series – as Max Owen in ‘Kevin (Probably) Saves the World’ and as ‘Derrick’ in ‘American Dad.’ His recently released films are ‘Family Blood’ (2018), and ‘Everyday’ (2018), and his forthcoming ventures are ‘Captain Marvel,’ ‘Extracurricular Activities,’ and ‘The War With Grandpa.’
