Coby Cotton is one of the five co-founders of the extremely popular YouTube channel ‘Dude Perfect’. This sports entertainment channel is known for specializing in trick shots and comedy videos. Cotton forms one part of the channel, with the other ones being his former college roommates Garrett Hilbert, Tyler Toney, Cody Jones and his brother Cory Cotton. Being the most subscribed to channel in the USA, the most subscribed to sports channel on YouTube, and the 7th most-subscribed channel overall, ‘Dude Perfect’ has garnered over 32 million subscribers till date. Cotton, one of the reasons behind the channel’s success, is an extremely talented guy who believes in creating unique and entertaining content. His passion for sports and video filming combined with his dedication are the major reasons for where he is today. On a personal note, the YouTuber hails from the Woodlands, Texas. He also has a sister and is a married man.
Rise to Stardom
Coby Cotton, his bother Cory Cotton, and friends Garrett, Tyler, and Cody were once betting on sandwiches via basketball shots. Their gameplay, which was recorded on camera, was eventually published on YouTube. Within a week of its release, the video received 200k views. Soon after, a trick shot video from their Christian summer camp Sky Ranch was published; it now has over 19 million views. Afterwards, ESPN's E:60 contacted Cotton’s group for a segment which was later on broadcast in the television shows ‘Pardon the Interruption,’ ‘First Take,’ ‘SportsNation’ and ‘Around the Horn.’
With time, team Dude Perfect received professional requests and endorsements. They eventually worked with popular personalities like NBA star Chris Paul, actor Paul Rudd, volleyball star Morgan Beck, Australian bowler Jason Belmonte, singer Tim McGraw, NASCAR drivers Travis Pastrana, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and James Buescher, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Country singer Luke Bryan and tennis player Serena Williams. The team has also traveled to the UK to shoot a video with players of Arsenal F.C., Manchester City F.C. and Chelsea F.C.
In 2011, they launched a self-titled mobile game for Android and iOS. Soon after this, they came up with Dude Perfect 2 and more games called ‘That's Lit’ and ‘Endless Ducker’. In September 2015, Dude Perfect was approved for a TV series ‘The Dude Perfect Show’ that first premiered on CMT and later moved to the Nickelodeon channel for season 2.
Taking about the records made by Dude Perfect, the group set the world record for the longest basketball shot, shooting from the third deck of Kyle Field in 2009. The following year, they extended their record with a 216-foot high "cross-tower" shot. In 2018, the team broke the record for the longest pea blow (one breath) and longest lego walk (barefoot).

Coby Cotton was born on July 17, 1987 in the Woodlands, Texas, the USA. He has a sister and a twin brother, Cory, who is also one of the co-founders of ‘Dude Perfect.’ He studied at Texas A&M University. Coming to Cotton’s love life, he has been married to Aubrey Ellett since December 2017.
The TV show ‘Good Morning America’ once hosted a segment about Dude Perfect’s tricks and discussed whether they were real or not. Experts contacted by GMA later declared they were not able to find any evidence of their tricks being fake.
