Cassey Ho is an American social media fitness entrepreneur, Pilates instructor and YouTube star. A fitness freak, Ho started her journey in 2009 by posting her first ever video of Pilates on YouTube. Interestingly, unlike other YouTube stars, Ho never intended to make it as an internet sensation. In fact, she did not even look back into her account which had garnered increasing number of subscribers on the channel. It was only three years later in 2012 that Ho turned to it professionally. By then, the subscriber list had surpassed the 150,000 mark. As of December 2017, Blogilates, her YouTube channel, has reached more than 3 million subscribers. Listed by Forbes as one of the emerging and most successful social media marketers, Ho has come a long way than being just Pilates instructor. She has website that sells fitness apparel. Rise to Stardom
An internet personality and a rising YouTube star, Cassey Ho’s first attempt at online fitness business came in when she was in college. He fused pop music together with her classic Pilates routines, making working out a fun process. Meanwhile, she was studying fashion designing and by 2007, became one of 18 winning designers featured at the ‘Emerging Stars’ fashion show during San Francisco Fashion Week. After interning with a San Jose clothing company, Effie’s Heart, Cassey Ho moved to Boston, Massachusetts to take up full time job as a fashion buyer. Before leaving for Boston, Ho first posted a fitness video ‘POP Pilates: Total Body Sculpt video’ in 2009 on YouTube primarily for her students. To her surprise, the video was well-appreciated and led to a huge demand for specific workouts for different muscle group by the audience.
Just nine months after she moved to Boston, Ho quit working as a fashion buyer. and turned to teaching Pilates, taking 12 classes a week. However, this turned out to be physically taxing. She then switched to posting Pilate workout videos on YouTube. Within a short period of time, the number of viewers and subscribers began to increase rapidly. What stood in her favour was her unique style of melding music to the mat. Her innovative choreography made working out fun!
Cassey Ho became a YouTube Partner and set up her own website blogilates.com. Her web portal became a big hit. In 2010, when one of her bags featured in the Shape magazine, things changed for Ho. She began marketing her own line of apparels and bags on Blogilates.
In 2014, Ho released her first fitness DVD ‘POP Pilates: Total Body Workout’ and supplemented it with her first book, ‘Hot Body Year-Round: The Pop Pilates Plan to Get Slim, Eat Clean, and Live Happy Through Every Season’, a year later. Apart from posting videos on YouTube, Cassey Ho conducts one-to-one Pilates sessions and events. She has also initiated a line of activeware on shopblogilates.com under the name ‘Bodypop’. Most of her designs have been featured in popular magazines such as Shape Magazine, Fitness Magazine, and The Wendy Williams Show. Her future plans include a national tour on Pilates with her fans.
