Carla Gugino is an American actress best recognized for her roles as Sally Jupiter in the movie ‘Watchmen,’ Ingrid Cortez in the ‘Spy Kids’ trilogy and Dr. Vera Gorski in ‘Sucker Punch.’ She is also popular for playing lead characters in the TV series ‘Threshold’ and ‘Karen Sisco’. In addition, she has appeared in a number of films including ‘Son in Law’, ‘Night at the Museum’ and ‘The Space Between Us’, to name a few. Till date, she has also done several voice roles. Born to an orthodontist father and a "Bohemian" mother, Gugino was raised in two different houses after her parents separated when she was two. She remained an ‘A’ student throughout her high school and graduated as the valedictorian. Inspired by her aunt, the former model Carol Merrill, she studied acting. Gugino eventually came to support herself and was emancipated by the time she was 16. Extremely talented and charming, the actress today stands out as one of the most successful and passionate artistes in the contemporary entertainment industry. Whenever she is not shooting, she loves travelling and hanging out with her friends. She also enjoys yoga in her leisure time.

Carla Gugino's early work on television includes appearances in the programs ‘Saved by the Bell’, ‘The Wonder Years’, ‘Doogie Howser’ and ‘Falcon Crest’. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, she appeared in movies like ‘Troop Beverly Hills’ and ‘Son in Law’. In 1995, she played Nan St. George in BBC’s ‘The Buccaneers’. The following year, the actress portrayed the character of Ashley Schaeffer in the drama ‘Spin City’. Soon after this, she did the films ‘Snake Eyes’, 'Lovelife' and ‘Judas Kiss’, the last of which she also co-produced.
In 1999-2000, Gugino starred as Dr. Gina Simon in the series ‘Chicago Hope’. She next got featured in the films ‘The One’ and ‘Spy Kids’. Between 2003 and 2004, she played the titular character in the series ‘Karen Sisco’. In 2005, the American beauty joined the cast of the series ‘Threshold’ as ‘Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey’. That year, she also starred in the flick ‘Sin City’. From 2007 to 2010, she appeared as Amanda Daniels in ‘Entourage’. During this time period, Gugino also played roles in the drama series ‘Californication’ as well as in the films ‘American Gangster’, ‘Righteous Kill’, ‘The Unborn’, ‘Watchmen’, ‘Elektra’ and ‘Faster’.
She featured in the movies ‘Sucker Punch’ and ‘Mr. Popper's Penguins’ in 2011. Soon after, she played Susan Berg in the miniseries ‘Political Animals’. In the ensuing years, Gugino starred as Kate Hewson in ‘Wayward Pines’ (2015) and also had roles in the flick ‘San Andreas’ (2015) and the sitcom ‘The Brink’ (2015). During this time period, she also played the main role of Shelli in the comedy-drama series ‘Roadies’. In 2017, the actress did the films ‘The Space Between Us’ and ‘Gerald's Game’.
