Brandon Mychal Smith is an upcoming American rapper, comedian and actor, well known for playing the role of Bug Wendal in the television serial ‘Gridiron Gang’. He won acclaim for his portrayal of Little Richard in the 2014 biopic ‘Get On Up’. He has garnered a legion of loyal fans for playing the iconic role of super suave Nico Harris on Disney Channel series, ‘So Random’. Brandon has evolved to be a rapper, comedian, dancer and versatile actor. From starting his career as a child with an advertisement for Nike with Tiger Woods, he has come a long way. His major break came with his performance as Tayshawn in the Emmy Award nominated television movie, ‘The Ron Clark Story’ (2006) that won him a Family Television Award and Young Artist Award in 2007.
Smith also competed for the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ sequel ‘Skating with the Stars’ (2010). He reached the final round and was a hot favourite, but had to withdraw in the last stages due to illness.
He had a parallel career on the small screen with regular appearances in a number of sequels including nine episodes of ‘Unfabulous’ as Mario, as Nathan in ‘The Shield’, Trevor in ‘Without a Trace’, Jason Plumbey in ‘Lucky Louie’, a wrestler in ‘Zoey 101’, Albert in ‘Starstruck’, 13 episodes of ‘You’re the Worst’ and 10 episodes of ‘Sweet / Vicious’. Brandon also appeared in the music videos ‘La La Land’ with co-star Demi Lovato, ‘U Can’t Touch This’ and ‘Party Up’. He even sang for the soundtrack of the Disney movie ‘Starstruck’.
He has been quick to establish himself as a rapper, comedian, dancer and versatile actor who understands show business and has the potential to grow in the industry. As he steadily climbs the ladder of success, latest reports on social media has it that he will be replacing Nick Cannon as a host on the popular NBC TV show ‘America’s Got Talent’. His acting career has given him a large following of fans and as of April 2017, his net worth is over $ 4.8 million.

Brandon was born on May 29, 1989 in Los Angeles. He is of African – Scottish decent. He presently lives in Los Angeles and is known to be very close to his parents and younger sister, who is also into acting. He attended Billy Mitchell Elementary School, University High School and Hampton University.
During his younger days he was an avid roller skater and always wanted to be a star in show business. While in school, he played Young Simba in the Pantages theater stage production of Lion King.
Though social media has linked his name to a few supposedly girlfriends, he is in a long term steady relationship with the Canadian actress, Maggie Castle, whom he met during the filming of the movie ‘Starstruck’ in 2009. Though they have been living together for some time there is no talk of engagement or marriage. His social media status is still very much single.
