Brandon Spencer Call is a former American actor who was active between 1984 and 1998, primarily as a child and adolescent star. He was a much popular face on the television in the late 1980s and 1990s. He abruptly quit his acting career after appearing in a number of television shows and a few films. Brandon Call is best known for his portrayal of ‘John Thomas "J.T." Lambert’ in the ABC sitcom ‘Step by Step’. Call had also appeared in the fantasy sitcom ‘The Charmings’ and in the action drama television show ‘Baywatch’. Apart from acting in numerous television shows, Call had appeared in a few films as well. His big screen appearances were in films like ‘Jagged Edge’, ‘Blind Fury’, ‘The Adventures of Ford Fairlane’, and ‘For the Boys’. At the peak of his career, he left the show business at the young age of 22 and has since been living a regular life away from all the limelight.

Career
Brandon Call primarily worked as a child and adolescent actor during his time in the show business. His debut role was as a child actor in the detective television show ‘Simon & Simon’ (episode: ‘The Dillinger Print’), followed by a role in the series ‘Hotel’ (episode: ‘Intimate Strangers’), both in 1984. The subsequent year, Call appeared in the courtroom thriller film ‘Jagged Edge’ as ‘David Barnes’. He also appeared in two television movies, ‘Slickers’ as ‘Scooter Clinton’ and ‘I Dream of Jeannie... Fifteen Years Later’ as ‘Tony, Jr.’, in guest roles in 1985. Call received the regular role of ‘Brandon Capwell’ in the NBC television soap opera ‘Santa Barbara’ the same year. He also bagged a role in the series ‘Magnum, P.I.’ which saw him appear in three episodes between 1985 and 1988.
Brandon Call made a number of guest appearances in different television shows in the next few years. Some of these appearances were in the television shows ‘Life with Lucy’, ‘St. Elsewhere’, ‘Webster’, and ‘Something Is Out There’. He picked up the regular role of ‘Thomas Charming’ in the fantasy sitcom ‘The Charmings’ in 1987. He was part of the show for 19 episodes. He then appeared in the 1989–90 season of the action drama show ‘Baywatch’ as ‘Hobie Buchannon’.
The most important role in Call’s career came in 1991 when he was offered the role of ‘John Thomas "J.T." Lambert’ in the television sitcom ‘Step by Step’. Brandon Call was a series regular and portrayed the role of the eldest son in the Lambert family. His character was into sports, just like his father, but lacked work ethics and was always finding a way to avoid responsibilities. Call was nominated three times at the Young Artist Awards, including once in the Outstanding Young Comedian in a Television Series category.

Brandon Call was born in Torrance, California, on November 17, 1976 to Elyse Call and Richard Call. He has three siblings named Dee Anne Call, Dustin Call, and Tandi Call. Call abruptly left the show business just after he completed the last season of ‘Step by Step’. He then started working at his parents’ gas station.
He once had an altercation at a traffic signal when he was returning home from work and ended up getting shot in both of his arms. He was treated at the UCLA Medical Center and eventually recovered fully from his wounds.
At present, he is divorced and has one daughter.
