Early Life

She always had a tomboyish appearance, which made her personality further more charming and upon some close family friends’ suggestions, her parents considered a career in acting for her.

Amber showed an inclination towards acting at a very early age and this led her to start learning acting when she was just 7. She started participating in her school theatrical productions and was usually appreciated for her natural performances on-stage.

She had grown fond of acting by then and desiring to start her professional career at any cost, she requested her parents to move to California when she was 8. There, she started auditioning and got some roles in small time films and TV series’ in the pursuit of gaining fame to enter the mainstream entertainment industry.

Career

She made her on-camera acting debut with the 2008 film ‘She Could Be You’, where she appeared in a very small role of Jennifer Martilez. Although the role was small and went unnoticed for the most part, it did help her gaining some level of confidence for her further auditions.

She then made her small screen debut with the 2010 series ‘I didn’t know I was Pregnant’. It was a health documentary series directed towards pregnancies and misconceptions related to it. Amber appeared in one episode for the series.

The 2011 ‘Monster Mutt’ was the next one of her acting projects and she played a very small role as a school kid. The film, however, did not release formally and both Amber and the film went largely unnoticed.

She then managed to grab a role in the sitcom ‘Man Up!’ She only appeared in the pilot episode and before her role could be extended further, the show was taken off air due to low ratings.

But what made up for all the failures in her career was the Nickelodeon series ‘The Haunted Hathaways’. The sitcom touched on horror comedy themes and was aimed towards entertaining kids. Amber got the lead role in the series as Taylor Hathaway and she became one of the most popular young teenagers in the television industry owing to the roaring success of the series.

The series told the story about two sisters and their adventures as they move to a new place. Amber played the older sister to general and critical appreciation. She received two nominations for her praiseworthy portrayal, a NAACP Image Award and an Imagen Award.

The success of the series led her to star in ‘The Thundermans’, wherein she reprised her role as Taylor Hathaway for one episode.

All the success that she was enjoying eventually led her to star as the leading girl in the computer animated series ‘Spirit Riding Free’, a period drama which received applauds for its storyline and performances. Along with that, she also made an appearance in the 2016 straight to video film ‘Emma’s Chance’.

Amber Montana was born Amber Dawn Frank into a middle class family in Tampa, Florida, USA on 2nd December 1998.

Apart from acting, Amber Montana loves playing music and she plays piano and sheet music during her free time. Other than that, she is also known as an animal lover. Her family had three dogs when she was a kid.

She is of Cuban and Mexican ancestry and keeps her personal life to herself.
