Alden Ehrenreich is an American actor who has appeared in many Hollywood movies and a few television shows. He started his career with a guest role in the popular TV series ‘Supernatural’. After appearing in a short film ‘Switcheroo’, he made his feature film debut with a role in the drama film ‘Tetro’. It was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Ehrenreich was next seen in Coppola’s horror thriller film ‘Twixt’. The film was a commercial failure and was also met with negative reviews. The young actor then went on to play the lead role in the American fantasy film ‘Beautiful Creatures’, which too didn’t do well commercially. Ehrenreich’s work in the comedy film ‘Hail, Caesar!’ can be considered the most significant work in his career so far. Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, the film was a huge success commercially and also received positive reviews. Ehrenreich was nominated for several awards for his performance. More recently, he played one of the main roles in the war film ‘The Yellow Birds’. It was directed by Alexandre Moors. Alden Caleb Ehrenreich was born to a Jewish family in Los Angeles, California, on 22nd November 1989. His mother, Sari, is an interior designer while his father, Mark, is an accountant. He was named after Phil Alden Robinson, an Oscar nominated and Emmy award winning film director.
Alden studied at the Palisades Elementary School where he also began acting. After finishing his high school education, he enrolled at the New York University. However, he didn’t complete his degree.
In 2009, with his friend Zoe Worth he co-founded ‘The Collectin’ a theatre and film group which consists of actors, writers, producers and directors.

Alden Ehrenreich was discovered by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg at a birthday party. With Spielberg’s support, the young boy began his acting career with a guest role in the famous American fantasy horror series ‘Supernatural’ in the year 2005. The following year, he played a guest role in the police drama series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’.
In 2008, he appeared in the short film ‘Switcheroo!’ which was directed by Dan Basham.
