Famous Norwegian Actors

Alexander Rybak is a Belarusian-Norwegian singer-composer, violinist, and pianist. The son of two talented musicians, he began to play musical instruments when he was just five. He studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music before beginning his career. Besides being a musician, he is also an actor and has appeared in many TV shows and films. 

Tobias Santelmann is a German-born Norwegian actor best known for starring in the historical drama film Kon-Tiki. Interested in acting from a young age, he graduated from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Since then, he has been employed at The Norwegian Theatre in Oslo. He is also active in the TV and film industries.

Norwegian actor Tarjei Sandvik Moe is best known for his award-winning portrayal of Isak Valtersen in the series Skam. While his character in the series was praised for its unusually frank depiction of homosexuality, unknown to many, he had skipped a math class to audition for the role.

Anders Danielsen Lie is a Norwegian actor, medical doctor, and musician. Danielsen Lie has played leading roles in award-winning films like Reprise and Oslo, 31 August. His portrayal of Anders in Oslo, 31 August was honored at the RiverRun International Film Festival in 2012. In 2022, he was named Best Supporting Actor at the National Society of Film Critics Awards.

Thomas Hayes is a Norwegian-British DJ and actor best known for his portrayal of William Magnusson in the popular teen drama streaming TV series, Skam. Thomas Hayes has also appeared in several music videos of popular artists like Alan Walker.  

Herman Tommeraas is a Norwegian model and actor best known for his portrayal of Christoffer Schistad in the popular television series, Skam. Tommeraas' popularity increased when the show achieved international success. With more than two million followers on Instagram, Herman Tommeraas is arguably one of the most popular stars on the TV series.

Norwegian singer Per Fredrik Åsly, better known by his stage name, PelleK, has been associated with groups such as Damnation Angels and Qantice. He also has his own band, PelleK. He is extremely popular on YouTube, too, and has appeared in the film Creators: The Past and the popular series Vikings.

Norwegian actor Nils Jørgen Kaalstad is perhaps best known for his role as Arvid in the series Norsemen. His other major portrayals have been for films such as Headhunters and series such as Lilyhammer. He is also an electronic musician, known by his stage name, Sideshow Jøgge.

Cliff Moustache is a Seycellois-Norwegian film actor, director, and playwright. Born in Seychelles, Moustache has contributed immensely to Norwegian society by starting Nordic Black Xpress, a theatre school, and the Nordic Black Theatre in Oslo. In 2019, Cliff Moustache was honored by Marianne Borgenprestigious with the Artist of the Year honor, making him the first foreigner to receive the award.
