When the United States and the Soviet Union detonate nuclear devices simultaneously, it begins to affect the rotation of the Earth. It is soon discovered that the weapon tests have had a massive effect on Earth, and the nutation of the planet is altered by 11 degrees. The climatic zones are affected and  so is the earth’s pole and the equator. Water also begins to dry out, and it is eventually discovered that the earth has begun to spiral towards the Sun.
