Roxanne Pallett is an English actress and former broadcaster who is best recognized for playing the role of Jo Stiles/Sugden in the ITV soap opera 'Emmerdale' from 2005 to 2008. She has also acted in several horror films including 'Lake Placid 3', 'Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort' and 'Devil's Tower'. She had guest roles on television series such as 'Casualty', 'Waterloo Road' and 'Crime Stories', and participated in reality TV shows like 'Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes', 'Soapstar Superstar', 'Dancing on Ice', 'Celebrity Big Brother', 'Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls' and 'Celebrity Coach Trip'. She faced severe backlash for falsely accusing fellow housemate Ryan Thomas of punching her during her time on 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2018, following which several of her 'Emmerdale' co-stars, including Ryan's brother Adam Thomas, branded her a manipulative liar.

Childhood & Early Life
Roxanne Pallett was born on December 26, 1982 in Carlisle, Cumbria, England, and was raised by her mother, Monica, and her Italian grandmother in Currock. Her Iranian father had left the family when she was an infant.
She attended Robert Ferguson Primary School and Trinity school, and later earned her bachelor's degree in Media and Cultural Studies from Liverpool John Moores University in 2005. She also studied at the Manchester School of Screen Acting.

Career
Roxanne Pallett was in the final year at the university when she co-formed the girl-band 'Urban Angel', for which she co-wrote songs with producer Tony Mortimer. After bagging a record deal, she spent a year to develop her music in London and co-created a TV show, which got entangled in an unfortunate management conflict.
She was noticed by a casting director via whom she booked her first agent who helped her get auditions for several roles on ITV's 'Emmerdale'. She was offered to play Jo Stiles; her performance in the role earned her several prestigious award nominations.
In 2005, she was a performer at the 'DiscoMania 2: Don't Stop the Music' TV special and won a celebrity edition of 'Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes' as Gloria Estefan, although the latter never aired. The next year, she finished fourth on ITV's entertainment singing show 'Soapstar Superstar', did photoshoots for 'Loaded' and 'Maxim' magazines, and was named among '100 Most Sexiest Women in the World' by FHM.
She decided to leave 'Emmerdale' in 2008 and participated in the fourth season of ITV's 'Dancing on Ice'(2009) with professional partner Daniel Whiston. That year, she also played the lead role in Christmas pantomime 'Cinderella' at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle upon Tyne, although she left the production midway following her best friend's death.
In 2010, she had a guest role in the BBC medical drama 'Casualty' and made her film debut in the made-for-television horror comedy film 'Lake Placid 3'. That year, she also made her professional stage debut in 'Rock Around The Clock' and toured with Eve Ensler's 'Vagina Monologues'.
Her next notable performance was as troubled 17-year-old school girl Shelby Dixon in BBC's 'Waterloo Road' in 2012. She subsequently appeared on 'Casualty' and 'Crime Stories', and acted in the urban comedy 'It's A Lot'.
In 2014, she starred in the British horror film 'Devil's Tower' and had supporting roles in the American horror film 'Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort' and the TV movie 'Crystal Skulls'. In 2016, she starred in the stage version of the musical film 'The Wedding Singer'; however, she left the production midway in April 2017.
In 2018, she participated in the 22nd series of 'Celebrity Big Brother', during which she created a huge controversy by falsely accusing fellow housemate Ryan Thomas of aggressively punching her. Facing severe criticism from fans of the show and other celebrities, she left the house early on Day 17 of the show
She subsequently appeared twice on TV, on 'The Jeremy Vine Show' and in an interview with Emma Willis, during which she apologized for her actions. She later cancelled all her upcoming commitments, including her part of Cinderella in a pantomime, and only appeared in 'Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls', which was pre-recorded, and in 'Celebrity Coach Trip' in 2019.

From 2001 to 2007, Roxanne Pallett was in a relationship with actor Richard Fleeshman, whom she met while competing on 'Soapstar Superstar'. In 2013, she dated actor, Harry Neale, for six months.
She had a brief affair with Greg Burns in 2014 and is rumored to have dated Simon Webbe in 2015. In 2017, she began an online relationship with steelworker Lee Walton after bonding over their mutual love for Elvis Presley and they got engaged in December that year, within a day of their first meeting.

The deep red hybrid tea rose 'Rosa Roxanne Pallett', created by award-winning rose grower Keith Jones of C&K Jones in Cheshire, was named after her and launched at the 2007 Southport Flower Show.
