Anya Taylor-Joy is a British-Argentine actress who is best recognized for her roles in the horror films ‘The Witch’, ‘Split’ and ‘Glass’. Her popular roles in the horror movies have conferred upon her the title of “scream queen”. Born in US to an English-Spanish photographer and interior designer, and a Scottish-Argentine banker, Joy relocated to Argentina as an infant. At the age of six, she moved to London where she received her education before being scouted as a model at the age of 16. Taylor-Joy, who has received Cannes Film Festival's Trophée Chopard, is a multitalented woman. She is good at playing the electric guitar and ukulele and is also a trained ballet dancer. A loving sister of five behind the curtains, the gorgeous lady is undoubtedly a quickly rising superstar. On a personal note, she is a family-oriented girl. Career
Anya Taylor-Joy began her career as a model at the age of 16 when she was scouted outside Harrods Department Store by an agent of Storm Model Management. In 2014, she made her acting debut with an episode of ‘Endeavour’. The following year, she garnered attention with the role of Thomasin in the period horror flick ‘The Witch’. That year, Joy also played Cassandra in the British fantasy-adventure TV program ‘Atlantis’.
In the year 2016, she featured in Luke Scott’s sci-fi–horror ‘Morgan’ and in the thriller ‘Split’ as Casey Cooke. She also starred in Vikram Gandhi's ‘Barry’ the same year. The film focused on a young Barack Obama and his life at Columbia University. Joy played one of Obama's friends and featured alongside other artists including Devon Terrell, Jason Mitchell, Jenna Elfman, Ashley Judd, Ellar Coltrane and Avi Nash.
In 2017, Anya Taylor-Joy appeared in the television miniseries ‘The Miniaturist’ as Petronella Brandt. That year, she also got to play roles in the Spanish psychological horror flick ‘Marrowbone’ as well as in Cory Finley’s directional debut ‘Thoroughbreds’. In 2019, the talented artiste reprised her role as Casey in the movie ‘Glass’.
She would be soon seen in a number of movies including ‘Radioactive’, ‘The New Mutants’, ‘Playmobil: The Movie’ and ‘Here Are the Young Men’. Taylor-Joy would also lend her voice to the character of Brea in the upcoming Netflix TV series ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,’ which is a prequel to the 1982 movie ‘The Dark Crystal.’ Besides these, the beauty would star in a remake titled ‘Nosferatu,’ which would be directed by Eggers. Joy will also feature in another project named ‘The Sea Change.’

Anya Taylor-Joy was born on 16 April 1996, in Miami, Florida, USA. Her father, who is Scottish-Argentine, is a former international banker while her mother, who is English-Spanish, has worked in the fields of interior design and photography.
Taylor-Joy initially studied at a preparatory school in Kensington. She later attended Northlands School in Argentina followed by Queen's Gate School in London.
