Billy Ocean is a recording artist who achieved popularity in the 1980s when he became the most famous Trinidad–British R&B singer. Over the years, he has also been one of the most prominent supporters of the Rastafari movement. In the 2020 New Year Honours, Billy Ocean was appointed MBE for services to music.

Trinidadian-American singer-actor Heather Headley is best known for her Tony- and Drama Desk-winning performance in the musical Aida. The Northwestern University drop-out was also part of the theatrical version of Whitney Houston’s movie The Bodyguard and won a Grammy for her gospel album Audience of One.






Nigerian rapper Jesse James Enoch, better known as Lyrikal, went from being a university drop-out to one of the most popular music artists from his country. He is known for his socially relevant tracks such as Can U Relate and nation-wide campaigns such as the Behind Bars Campaign.
