Famous Swedish Guitarists

Singer and songwriter Björn Ulvaeus is perhaps best known as a member of the ABBA, one of the most successful musical groups of all time. Equally famous as a co-composer and co-producer of several films and musicals, he is currently serving as the President of CISAC, trying to ensure that creators are fairly compensated and properly credited for their works.

A Swedish electric guitarist/ neo-classical metal artist, Yngwie Johann Malmsteen rose to popularity in the 1980s and has, since then, released over 22 studio albums in his four decades of career till now. His solo debut album Rising Force, which won a nomination at the 1986 Grammy Awards, is regarded a significant release in the shred and neoclassical metal genres.

Per Gessle is a Swedish singer, musician, and songwriter. He is best known as one half of the famous pop rock duo Roxette, which he founded alongside Marie Fredriksson in 1986. Roxette achieved international success before its disbandment in 2019 following Fredriksson's death.

John Norum is a Norwegian-Swedish rock guitarist best known as the co-founder of the popular Swedish rock band Europe. Apart from contributing to the success of Europe, John Norum has also had a successful solo career. Some of his solo albums like Total Control and Play Yard Blues have achieved success and fame. 

Peter Jöback is a Swedish actor, singer, and musical artist. A critically acclaimed performer, Jöback is renowned for his musical skills as well as his performances on stage. Peter Jöback has played important roles in popular musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera and The Witches of Eastwick.

Cornelis Vreeswijk was a Dutch-born Swedish actor, singer-songwriter, and poet. He is often counted among the most successful and influential Swedish troubadours of all time. Cornelis Vreeswijk's life and career inspired the 2010 Swedish drama film, Cornelis, which was directed by Amir Chamdin.

Tomas Ledin is a Swedish musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for competing at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1980 where he represented Sweden with the song Just nu! In 2019, Edward af Sillén directed a jukebox musical film titled A Piece of My Heart which housed Tomas Ledin's songs. 

Swedish singer and TikTok star Nova Miller is best known for hits such as Girls Like Us and Supernova. Born to a bassist father and a flutist mother, Miller was no stranger to music as a child. Apart from vocals, she is also proficient in the guitar and other instruments.
