Famous Slovenian Ski Jumpers

Peter Prevc is a Slovenian ski jumper best known for winning the Ski Jumping World Cup overall title in 2016. He is also known for winning gold and a silver medal at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. A former world record holder, Peter Prevc was adjudged Slovenian Sportsman of the Year on four occasions. 

Vinko Bogataj is a Slovenian painter and retired ski jumper. He achieved popularity when footage of him crashing was played on ABC's Wide World of Sports. After retiring, Vinko Bogataj worked as a ski instructor, painter, and forklift operator. He achieved popularity again, this time as a painter, as his works have won awards in both the US and Europe.

Domen Prevc is a Slovenian ski jumper who won a gold medal at the 2022 Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund, Norway. He first achieved popularity in 2018 when he was part of the team that won the silver medal at the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany.

Timi Zajc is a Slovenian ski jumper who achieved international prominence in 2022 when he won a gold and silver medal at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. In the same year, Timi Zajc also won a gold and silver medal at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund, Norway.

Cene Prevc is a Slovenian ski jumper. He was part of the men's large hill team that won the silver medal at the 2022 Olympics. Born into a family of ski jumpers, Prevc started his training at a young age. His brothers Domen and Peter are FIS Ski Jumping World Cup jumpers, while his father is a ski jumping referee.

Nika Kriznar is a Slovenian ski jumper best known for winning a gold and bronze medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. She also won a silver and bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. 

Primož Peterka is a Slovenian retired ski jumper who won 15 individual World Cup competitions, a Ski Flying World Cup title, two successive overall World Cup titles, and the Four Hills Tournament. Primož Peterka also won bronze medals at the 2002 Olympic Games and 2005 World Championships. Peterka is considered one of the most successful Slovenian athletes of all time.

Robert Kranjec is a Slovenian retired ski jumper best known for winning a bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics. He also won a bronze at the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and an individual gold medal at the 2012 FIS Ski Flying World Championships.

Anže Lanišek is a Slovenian ski jumper who won a bronze medal at the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. Also known for his ski flying skills, Anže Lanišek competed in the 2022 Ski Flying World Championships where he helped his team win a gold medal. 

Peter Florjančič was a Slovene Olympic athlete and inventor. He took part in the 1936 Olympic Games where he was the youngest member of the ski-jumping team from Yugoslavia. He is best remembered for inventing the perfume atomizer and plastic ice skates. Peter Florjančič's life and career inspired a documentary film that released in 2002.

Ema Klinec is a Slovenian ski jumper who won the gold medal in the women's individual normal hill competition at the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, becoming the first Slovenian female ski jumper to do so. In the same World Championships, Ema Klinec also won the silver medal in the team normal hill competition.

Špela Rogelj is a Slovenian former ski jumper best known for winning a silver medal at the 2021 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. Rogelj started her career by competing in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup before proceeding to represent her country at World Cup level. Špela Rogelj announced her retirement in 2022.

Maja Vtič is a Slovenian professional ski jumper who achieved popularity when she won the national ski jumping competition in 2011. She has also competed for Slovenia in prestigious tournaments like the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships and FIS Ski Jumping World Cups, placing fifth at the 2011 World Championship.
