Willywonkatiktok was born on December 12, 2000, in Utah, United States of America. His real name is Duke Depp.

Not much is known about his parents. He is, however, often seen in his videos with his sister, Kaestle, who is 5 years older than him.

Willywonkatiktok, or Duke, has been working as a wedding photographer since 2016. Duke and his sister began creating podcasts in January 2019, much before he created his Willy Wonka persona. He brought his podcasts to his Willy Wonka channels by July 8, 2020. The videos feature his sister, his dog, and his sister’s dog, Twix. Apparently, the brother–sister duo decided to make collaborative podcasts after traveling to Disneyland, California, together in 2018.

In spite of him being so popular now, Duke remembers that their first viral video was one that showed his sister’s chihuahua swimming in a pool. It received around 1.1 million views.

Duke began posting his Willy Wonka videos on TikTok in May 2020. He was bored due to the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to do something creative with his time and energy. The character Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, played by Johnny Depp, is Duke’s all-time favorite. He thus decided to pay homage to Willy Wonka and began posting videos emulating the character’s mannerisms.

His initial videos showed him using a blonde wig. However, once he started gaining followers, he switched to a black wig, to make him look more authentic. He wears a custom-made red coat, sunglasses, and a hat, to mimic Johnny Depp’s character.

Duke hated his own voice but then used it creatively in his videos. He also uses phrases such as “Oompa Loompas” and “Dear Children” to refer to his fans.

He believes he has redefined Willy Wonka by showcasing his naughty side, as TikTok is not too “kid-friendly.”

Many of his videos feature his dog, Willy Jr., a chihuahua. Willy Jr.’s real name is Checks. Duke’s TikTok account, willywonkatiktok, has gained 73.3 million likes and 3.4 million fans.

He launched his merchandise after earning 500 thousand TikTok followers. His Willy Wonka-themed hoodies, T-shirts, and face masks are available on linktr.ee and bonfire.com.

Duke launched his YouTube channel on May 20, 2020. It hosts content related to his personal life and his Willy Wonka antics. The channel has gained over 100 thousand subscribers and more than 738 thousand views. The first video on the channel, Going UNDERCOVER as a Fan Page!, which premiered on June 24, 2020, has gained more than 62 thousand views and over 7 thousand likes.

He decided to do a “face reveal” video after gaining a million followers on TikTok. The video, Willy Wonka Tiktok Face Reveal + Q&A, premiered on YouTube on June 8, 2020, and has gained more than 17 thousand likes and over 221 thousand views.

He has another Instagram account, under his real name. The account, dukedepp_, has gained over 74 thousand followers. His personal TikTok account, dukedepp, has earned over 9.8 million likes and more than 908.5 thousand fans. He is also found on Cameo and Snapchat.

Duke wanted to be a YouTube content creator even as a kid. In 2009–2010, he posted his first YouTube video, shot on his hand-held video camera, and it received a lot of hate comments.

Only his family and a few friends knew about his Willy Wonka persona before he did a “face reveal.” Even now, people cannot believe that willywonkatiktok is actually him.
