Tyler Hagen had a flair for music right from his childhood. He began playing different instruments when he was just seven. He used to play his nursery rhymes on piano and that was just the beginning of his long-term association with music. He even started composing songs while he was still a kid.

In order to showcase his talent to the world, he decided to create a YouTube channel. Tyler created his channel, ‘Sounds Like Harmony’, and started performing live. Gradually, his music was liked by many and his channel racked up 35,000 subscribers within a year of creating the channel.

Tyler then began posting the songs that were composed by him and soon became an internet sensation. Tyler’s music is unique in many ways. He fuses different music genres like blues, metal, rock and rap and then adds his own touch to it. He sometimes blends two completely different genres and manages to come up with a unique genre of his own. He was once appreciated by many for mixing pop with acoustic and heavy metal with a melodious instrumental cover.

Tyler has shared the stage with popular bands and musicians like ‘Never Shout Never’ and SayWeCanFly. His success reached greater heights when his song, ‘The Sun and the Moon’, won the second place in the ‘Song of the Year’ contest conducted by songoftheyear.com.

Tyler has been a featured artist in ‘Warped Tour’, a music festival. In the festival, he takes part in a competition which is organized every year by the premier string instrument manufacturing company, Ernie Ball. One of Tyler’s tracks topped the Virginia Beach music charts and secured the 25th position on the national Billboard.

Before YouTube Fame

Tyler may have made a name for himself in the field of music. But he had his fair share of struggle during the initial stages of his career. He did many odd jobs in order to manage his finances before becoming financially successful.

Since he was good at skateboarding, he began to flaunt his skateboarding skills and managed to gain a bit of popularity in the neighborhood. His acts were sponsored by the local shops and a fashion line called Textbook Clothing.

Tyler was then diagnosed with an acute tonsil which needed to be operated. The surgery was expensive and left him bankrupt. He had to drop out of his college which made him to turn towards his long-term love, music. He started focusing on his music skills and started making some money to support his expenses.

The Breakup Story

In 2015, Tyler posted a video after breaking up with his long-time girlfriend, Shannon Taylor. She too, is a musician and YouTube personality. After breaking up, they started blaming each other by posting rant videos on their respective channels. Shannon posted her breakup video, stating that Tyler is a racist and that he never cared for her.

Tyler came up with his video, saying that Shannon misbehaved with his mother and that became the reason for their breakup. Some of their fans created a different story, suggesting that their respective professional growth created a rift between them which ultimately resulted in their breakup.

Tyler & Levi

Tyler is a young father who takes care of his son, Levi. Levi has been featured in some of Tyler’s videos in which they are seen sharing a beautiful bond. In one of his videos, Tyler shared his experience when Levi was attacked by a group of racist men. The miscreants had smashed the windshield of his car when Levi had gone out to shop with his mother. Tyler highly condemned the act and requested people not to engage in violent activities.

Tyler also had a difficult phase while parenting Levi. He was arrested for failing to pay up for child support. He was supposed to pay around three hundred dollars which he couldn't as he was broke during the initial stages of his career. He somehow managed to collect the sum and deposited the funds. Nevertheless, Tyler is now financially strong and is having no issues in raising his son.

Personal Life

Tyler was born James Tyler Hagen Jr. on January 24, 1992 in Greenville, North Carolina. He attended Beaufort County Community College where he studied nursing, but opted to drop out owing to financial crisis.
