Riya Malik and Dan Kipnis created their joint YouTube channel in March 2014. Their first video was titled “THEME SONG SHAVING CREAM CHALLENGE I DanAndRiya.” The duo started posting comedy content, challenge videos, and reaction videos that gradually gained popularity on YouTube. They soon became one of the trending content creators on YouTube and amassed a sizable subscriber base on their channel. Later, they launched their own web series, Beverly Valley High, which turned out to be a massive success. The series has become the most popular content on their channel.

In November 2017, Riya Malik and Dan launched their second YouTube channel, Dan And Riya Play. The channel is focused on challenge videos, vlogs, and reaction videos that entertain over 203k subscribers. However, Riya and Dan have not posted any new content on this channel since 2019.

In a Q&A video, Riya shared that she met Dan when she was in the fourth grade. They later became best friends during a school trip. According to Dan, it was his idea to start YouTube channel and then he later invited Riya to join the channel. When asked about her favorite songs, Riya revealed that she is a big fan of the Canadian singer Justin Bieber and likes almost all of his songs.
