Born In: Los Angeles, United States

Phil Swift is an American businessman who, along with his brother Alan Swift, is the joint owner of the company Flex Seal Products which specializes in a line of waterproof adhesive bonding products that include Flex Seal, Flex Shot, Flex Tape, Flex Glue, and Flex Mini. He is also the spokesperson for the brand and appears on television commercials showcasing the power of his products by, for instance, sawing a boat in half and then repairing it. Such feats have made him a pop culture icon after popular YouTuber JonTron (real name Jon Jafari), who provides comedic commentary about video games, movies, or infomercials, decided to make a video about the various Flex Seal Products infomercials. The company has been sponsoring NASCAR Xfinity Series team JD Motorsports since 2013. While there have been doubts over the effectiveness of Flex Seal Products to the extent shown on infomercials, in February 2017, after a sponsored NASCAR car driven by Garrett Smithley crashed at Daytona, Flex Tape was used to repair the damages and he finished the race in the eighth position.

Rise to Fame
Phil Swift has been working in the marketing and direct sales industry since the 1980s. He and his brother Alan later created 'Swift Response LLC' which markets high performance products directly to consumers through direct sales, direct response, television infomercials, internet advertising, telemarketing, and catalog distribution. The company became particularly known for its high performance Flex Seal Products which came in the market in the early 2011, following which the company was accredited by 'Consumer Reports' in 2012.
The various adhesive bonding products from the company are marketed by Phil himself as the brand's television spokesperson. As such, he has a much bigger exposure to the public than his brother, and is popular among the audience for his likable nature. However, it is not merely his personality that has made him popular. Through the product ads, he has performed some remarkable feats like sawing a boat in half and fixing it with Flex Tape before riding it on water, attaching bricks with Flex Glue and showing its weight lifting capabilities, or using it to make a buggy car by gluing together metal sleeves, tubing and panels. On September 30, 2017, YouTuber JonTron uploaded a comedic video titled 'Waterproofing My Life With FLEX TAPE', which immediately went viral and became the most watched video on his channel, earning over 42 million views so far. In fact, JonTron received so many requests for a second part to the video, that he eventually released 'Flex Tape II: The Flexening' on December 2, 2018, featuring Phil Swift as some other-worldly powerful being. Throughout 2018, numerous memes about Flex Tape and Phil blew up on the internet, which have created and perpetuated myths about his miraculous achievements ever since.

The Man, The Myth, The Legend
It has been about a couple of years since Phil Swift and his Flex Seal Products became popular on the internet, and it is already overflowing with various memes and incredible stories about him. For instance, 'The Phil Swift Archives Wiki' states that he was born "in the heart of a dying star in the Andromeda galaxy during the creation of the Milky Way", adding that he has "titanium-hard muscles". Apparently, he fell on to Earth on August 6, 1944, which leveled Hiroshima in Japan moments before the nuclear bomb was dropped. He also fought in the Vietnam War, during which he killed 100k people with his bare hands and "created a super-strong adhesive with a mixture of his own celestial blood and tree sap" to treat "severed arteries". The page blames his PTSD for slaughtering "buckets and boats".
Another website, 'Teh Meme Wiki', states that Phil is "known as one of the strongest Gods in the Milky Way universe" who can be "the reincarnation of Billy Mays". It also details how in another lifetime he was known as Phil Christ who was crucified by using "an early prototype of Flex Glue" "to keep the nails hammered into his hands and feet". According to the website, the "seemingly ordinary businessman" Phil Swift is a mere disguise and that the first strip of Flex Tape was made from "children's tears, some Fresh Avocado, and a bit of Canadian tongue". Once again his contributions in the military have been reinforced with the mention of him earning "the Medal of Honor after fixing a wounded man with Flex Tape during the Vietnam War".
