Nupur Sharma has been present on Instagram since October 2016, and while her profile has grown steadily, she quickly gained popularity in 2019 for sharing lip-syncs, dance videos and funny skits on her TikTok account. She moved from North Carolina to Los Angeles, California in September that year to avail better opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Shortly after, she became a part of the new content collective, the Inspir3 House, along with Alex Youmazzo, Emmy Combs, Tianna Singer, and a few male content creators including brothers Ajani Huff-House and Davonte House. Her followers increased substantially in the following months and she was even approached by CBS for a brand promotion. Unfortunately, the collective fell apart in early 2020 due to mismanagement, following which she and others like Alex and Tianna became part of the Girls in the Valley house, which rented a house owned by former Disney Channel actress Bella Thorne.

Nupur, who had already surpassed a million fans on TikTok when the group formed, was credited as the top creator of the group by pulsarplatform.com in a blog post that placed the group in 9th spot among Top 10 most influential TikTok collab houses in August 2020. However, that collective was already over by then, prompting her to form another group called The Rangerz with her boyfriend Davonte, his brother Ajani, and a few other TikTok influencers. The group went viral in October 2020 for making social media content wearing full ‘Power Rangers’-themed suits and had collaborated with the likes of Lizzo, King Bach, DanRue, and Nathan Davis Jr. even before revealing the members’ faces.

Nupur Sharma, who had been a part of many failed TikTok collectives that surfaced on the news for the wrong reasons, was featured in articles by ‘New York Times’ and ‘Vox’ in the second half of 2020. ‘Inspir3’, the first content house she was a part of, was put together by 19-year-old Chase Zwernemann who, apart from lying about his age, made false promises about “lucrative deals with brands, business trips, and a paid-for LA haven to call their own”. Nupur told ‘Vox’ that while the “first few months were really good”, they were not making any money and she had to share a one-story, four-bedroom house with a dozen people, sleeping on an air mattress. Moreover, she got no money from her CBS brand deal, for which Chase had negotiated a $1,500 payment with a 15 percent fee. The last straw for her was when he asked her to strip during a trip to Las Vegas with the group in January 2020. The next content house she went to, ‘Girls in the Valley’, had a similar mismanagement problem as Ariadna Jacob, whose talent management firm Influences managed the collective, had made similar tall promises that were not met. She had a tight leash around the girls, and within months, refused to pay utility bills for the coveted house, before eventually kicking them out, which led to an argument that Nupur had live-streamed on social media. She then briefly spent time at the popular ‘Sway House’ in August 2020, when the LA mayor cut off power and water supply to the content house after its inhabitants threw parties in breach of Coronavirus lockdown restrictions

Nupur Sharma was born on September 27, 1999 in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, into a family of Indian origin. It is not known when she moved to the United States, but she was living in North Carolina when she started to gain popularity on social media. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2022.

She dated fellow TikTok star Jonas Bridges who had wished her on Valentine’s Day in February 2019 with a heartfelt Instagram post. He was with her when she appeared on Zach Pincince’s video later that year, but they eventually parted ways. She then dated another TikToker, Davonte House, with whom she was part of several content houses.
