Who is Kristine Leahy?
Kristine Leahy is an American television host and sports reporter best known as a host on NBC's ‘American Ninja Warrior’, a sports entertainment competition that is a spin-off of the Japanese television series ‘Sasuke’ that features hundreds of competitors. She is also popular as the co-host and newswoman of Fox Sports 1's simulcast of ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd.’ Born into a family with a deep interest in sports of all kinds, young Kristine grew up admiring the likes of Michael Jordan whose career she closely followed during her school days. Though she wasn’t personally very inclined towards playing any sport herself, she realized nonetheless that she wanted to be in the midst of sportsmen forever. Thus she decided to get into sports journalism and earned her Bachelor of Science and Journalism degree from Boston University. She ventured into sports journalism while still in college and soon after graduation bagged a job with a sports radio station before moving on to work for FOX Boston. Within a decade, she established herself as a very successful sports journalist and is now currently living her dream of “being surrounded with some of the best athletes and most hard-nosed competitors in the world.”
While a student at the Boston University, Kristine Leahy became a part of the team that created BUTV's first sports talk show and also co-anchored that show for three years. Following her graduation, she worked as a reporter and host for New England Sports Radio Station WEEI. Eventually she became an official reporter of the Boston Celtics and Celtics.com after which she spent a year as the lead sports anchor for FOX Boston, covering all Boston area sports teams. Ambitious to take her career to greater heights, she moved to Los Angeles in 2012. There she worked in a number of positions, including a stint as a sideline reporter for Turner Sports' March Madness coverage. With time she earned much success as a sports journalist which gained her national fame. She enjoyed even greater popularity after becoming the sideline reporter for ‘American Ninja Warrior’ on NBC. Her performance in this capacity brought her to the notice of former ESPN Radio host Colin Cowherd who offered her a job on his new show. Thus, in September 2015, Kristine Leahy became a co-host on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd,’ a sports talk radio show hosted by Colin Cowherd on Fox Sports Radio and Fox Sports 1. She also works as an anchor and reporter for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Controversies & Scandals
Kristine Leahy is a much respected figure in sports journalism and she is not someone to get involved in needless controversies. However, in May 2017, she became the subject of considerable media interest when she was publically disrespected by Lavar Ball, the father of top NBA prospect Lonzo Ball and the owner of the sportswear company Big Baller Brand. Lavar Ball had appeared on ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ radio show where he was being interviewed by Cowherd. In the midst of the ongoing interview, Leahy asked Ball a question about his sporting brand to which he replied very arrogantly, without even looking at her. He also hurled disrespectful words at her and even threatened her, all in front of the camera, in full view of the shocked crew and audience. Leahy, being the calm professional that she is, managed the situation with dignity. However, this incident definitely marred the reputation of Lavar Ball by revealing him to be a sexist and arrogant man.
Kristine Leahy was born on October 17, 1986 in Chicago. Not much is known about her family except for the fact that she has two younger brothers. She is not married and is rumoured to be dating Aaron Hines, a sports instructor and trainer, though she never confirmed the relationship.
In 2013, she called a horse race, becoming the first woman to ever do so in California.
