Kate Mansi was born Katharine Theresa Rose Morris, on September 15, 1987, in Calabasas, California, to Jeff and Victoria Morris. She was the middle child in the family of three children. Her older sister, Lexa Mansi Morris, works as an art director in Hollywood films. Her parents later divorced and married other partners.

Kate is from a privileged background, with her mother being a professional dancer. Her mother saw raw talent in Kate when she was a child and enrolled her into ballet classes. Over time, Kate’s interest in dance grew further.

By the time she was 15 years old, she had begun participating in dance competitions around the country. Around the same time, she joined the ‘Pacific Festival Ballet.’ She performed on stage in many productions, such as ‘Peter Pan,’ ‘Bambi,’ and ‘The Nutcracker.’

She also learned horseback riding as a kid. She credited her father for her athletic instincts ever since she was young. Most men from her father’s side rode horses and her father even owned a ranch and kept many horses.

During her high-school years, she gained an interest in acting, owing to her drama teacher at that time. She began acting in theatrical productions in high school and nurtured that love for acting even after she finished high school.

She enrolled at the ‘University of Pepperdine’ and earned a BA degree in films and public relations.

She was also a talented orator and was placed second in the ‘National Womack Speech Competition’ in 2007. She also participated in many extracurricular activities and traveled around Haiti and the Dominican Republic to participate in the ‘Orphanage Outreach’ programs.

Following her graduation from the university, Kate began auditioning for film and TV roles.

Kate made her acting debut in 2008, playing ‘Amanda’ in an episode of the hit American sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother,’ titled ‘The Fight.’ Although her debut role was small, it helped her tremendously in getting noticed, as the sitcom was watched by a huge section of national and international audiences.

It was, however, her second acting role that turned her career around and made her an internationally recognized star. She auditioned for and won the role of ‘Abigail Deveraux’ in the long-running American soap opera ‘Days of Our Lives.’ She took over the role from Ashley Benson and first appeared as ‘Abigail’ in 2011.

She played the role from 2011 to 2016 and then briefly for a year, from 2018 to 2019. Needless to say, playing one of the regular characters on the show did wonders for her popularity and she became a household name. She appeared in 653 episodes of the series. Marci Miller took over the role from Kate briefly, from 2016 to 2018, before Kate returned.

Her performance in the series won her the ‘Daytime Emmy Award’ for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series’ in 2017. She also won a ‘Daytime Emmy’ nomination in 2019 for her role.

She remained busy with ‘Days of Our Lives’ for many years until 2016, when she took a break from the serial and focused on her film career for a while. She appeared as ‘Amy,’ the lead character in the made-for-TV thriller ‘Unwanted Guest.’ The film received average reviews.

She then appeared in another lead role, in the small film ‘Boyfriend Killer.’ In 2017’s ‘Mother of All Secrets’ (also known as ‘Maternal Secrets’), she was seen playing the lead role of ‘Aubrey.’ Although the film did not receive a wide release, it was appreciated for having the biggest all-female cast and crew ever.

In 2017, she appeared in the single-episode guest role of ‘Marissa’ in the series ‘Small Shots.’

In 2018, she appeared in lead roles in two films, ‘Muse’ and ‘Nightclub Secrets.’ Both were small films and did not do anything great for her career. The absence of meaty parts in big films had her rethinking her career choices, and that made her move back to starring as ‘Abigail’ in ‘Days of Our Lives.’

Kate is also a model and has appeared in many print and commercial advertisements. She has also appeared on many TV talk shows, such as ‘Celebrity Page’ and ‘The Talk.’

Apart from acting, Kate Mansi is also known for her extensive humanitarian work. In 2013, she launched a campaign to raise $20,000 for ‘Charity: Water,’ which works toward providing clean drinking water to the needy. She went on ‘Twitter’ to claim that crowdfunding for the project was a success.

She once said that going to college was not really what she had wanted, but her parents made her go anyway. However, she now feels privileged for being a highly educated actor.

She was said to be in a relationship with her ‘Days of Our Lives’ co-star Casey Deidrick, but there has been no confirmation regarding the same. Kate prefers keeping her private life to herself.
