She started her career with minor film and TV roles, and went on to become the voice behind several animation characters. She then joined the ‘Marvel Studio’ to learn all about comics from her father. The lessons she got from him were not just limited to business, but also extended to life in general. It was Stan who instilled the "never stop" attitude in Joan. She reciprocated her parents’ affection by penning down their love story in her first book. Joan Celia Lee's first job was a brief role in the 1963 feature film 'The Cool World.' Right after finishing her graduation, Joan joined the ‘Marvel Studio’ to gain some on-hand comic making experience. The lessons she received from the 'Marvel' man shaped her career as a comic artist. Gradually, Joan emerged as an asset for the ‘Marvel Studio’. She was involved in the development of the learning app 'Raising My SuperKids' that donates a portion of its profits from sale to charity. Joan also runs the website fatsalagata.com, which is dedicated to her father’s legacy.
In October 2015, she published her first book 'Stan Lee’s Love Story’. Subtitled, ‘It's All About Love, The Stan Lee Family,’ the book provides an insight into the relationship between Joan’s parents and their married life.
