Dylan Minnette is a well-known American actor and musician, best known for playing ‘Clay Jensen’ in the popular ‘Netflix’ drama, ‘13 Reasons Why.’ The young actor made his professional acting debut in 2005 when he appeared in an episode of comedy sitcom ‘Drake & Josh.’ Since then, he has appeared in a number of TV series such as ‘Two and a Half Men,’ ‘Prison Break,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘The Mentalist,’ ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Lost,’ ‘Lie To Me,’ ‘Major Crimes,’ ‘Nikita,’ ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,’ and ‘Scandal.’ His breakout role came in crime drama series ‘Saving Grace’ in which he had a starring role. He played ‘Clay Norman’ in the series which lasted from 2007 to 2010. He made his film debut 2007 film ‘Game of Life’ which was directly released to video. His first notable film role came in 2010 romantic horror ‘Let Me In’ in which he played ‘Kenny.’ His other films include ‘Prisoners’ (2013), ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’ (2014), ‘Goosebumps’ (2015), ‘Don’t Breathe’ (2016), and ‘The Open House’ (2018). As a musician, he plays and sings in a band called ‘Wallows.’

Childhood & Early Life
Dylan Christopher Minnette was born on 29 December, 1996, in Evansville, Indiana, U.S. He is the only son of Robyn and Craig Minnette.
He is of English, German, Scottish, Irish, and distant Welsh, ancestry.He moved to Champaign, Illinois for five years before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.
He began working in commercial modeling after an agent scouted him. He started acting at the age of 7.

Early Career
Dyland was only nine when he made his first TV appearance on ‘Nickelodean’s popular sitcom ‘Drake & Josh’ in 2005. He also played young ‘Charlie Harper’ in popular comedy series ‘Two And a Half Men’ around the same time.
In 2005, he played young ‘Michael Scofield’ in TV drama ‘Prison Break.’ He had recurring role in the series and appeared in 5 episodes.
Career
His breakthrough came in crime drama series ‘Saving Grace’ where he scored the main role of ‘Clay Norman.’ The series lasted from 2007 to 2010.
During this time, he also appeared in his first film ‘Fred Clause’ where he played an orphananage kid. From 2008 to 2010, he appeared in TV series such as ‘Gray’s Anatomy’ (2008), ‘Ghost Whisperer’ (2008), ‘Rules of Engagement’ (2008), ‘The Mentalist’ (2008), and ‘Supernatural’ (2009).
His role as ‘David Shephard’ in drama series ‘Lost’ got him some recognition. In 2010, he had his first starring role in the horror film ‘Let Me In’ in which he played a bully named ‘Kenny.’
He also had a four-episode-role in the series ‘Men of a Certain Age’ where he played ‘Reed.’ In 2011, he appeared in three TV series, namely, ‘Lie to Me,’ ‘Against the Wall,’ and ‘R.L Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series.’
In 2012, He scored the main role in fantasy drama ‘Awake,’ He played ‘Rex Britten’ in the drama.
His other appearances in 2012 came in TV series ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ and ‘Major Crimes.’ In 2013, he appeared in two more TV series, ‘Nikita’ and ‘Save Me.’
He also appeared in two films, namely, ‘Labour Day’ and ‘Prisoners’ in 2013. In 2014, he appeared in an episode of TV series ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ as ‘Donnie Gill.Blizzard’ and had a recurring role in political thriller ‘Scandal.’

In the same year, he played ‘Anthony Cooper’ in family film ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,’ starring Steve Carrell and Jennfer Garner in lead roles. In 2015, he portrayed ‘Zach Coper’ in comedy horror film ‘Goosebumps’ which was based on children’s book series of the same name by ‘R.L Stine.’
In 2016, he played starred in horror film ‘Don’t Breathe.’ He had another starring role in the ‘Netflix’ drama series ’13 Reasons Why’ which aired in 2017.
Dylan finally received his much deserved fame and recognition through the series. He played ‘Clay Jensen’ in the series which is based on 2007 novel of the same name by Jay Asher.
In 2018, he starred in anotherr horror film ‘The Open House’ which was a direct-to-video release.
Dylan is one of the guitarists and vocalists in an alternative American rock band ‘Wallows.’ The band, which compromises of total four members, including Dylan, was previously known as The Feaver’ and then ‘The Narwhals’ before 2017.
Dylan was only 9 when he met his future bandmate Braeden LeMasters and by age 11, they were already writing songs. The band’s song ‘Bleeding Man’ was the promo for promo for season 2 of R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour.
The band often performs at Los Angeles, especially at venues such as the ‘Roxy Theater’ and ‘Whisky Go Go.’ They also performed at ‘Vans Warped Tour’ in 2011.
The band released four singles ‘Pleaser,’ ‘Sun Tan,’ ‘Uncomfortable,’ and ‘Pulling Leaves Off Trees’ in 2017. In 2018, they released ‘Pictures of Girls’ and ‘These Days.’
The band also won a battle of bands contest which was sponsored by ’98.7 FM.’ They also performed ‘Pictures of Girls’ on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ in 2018.

Minnette won ‘Young Artist Award’ for ‘Saving Grace’ under ‘Best Performance in a TV Series – Young Actor Age Ten or Younger’ category in 2008.He won another ‘Young Artist Award’ in 2011 for ‘Medium’ under ‘Best Performance in a TV Series – Guest Starring Young Actor 14–17’ category.
He won ‘National Board of Review Awards’ for ‘Prisoners’ under ‘Best Acting by an Ensemble’ category. He has also been nominated many times for his performances.
Personal Life
Dylan has been in a relationship with American actress and singer, Kerris Dorsey since 2014. The couple met on the set of their film ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.’
