We do not have any information about his schooling or his inclination towards social media. However, this reticent YouTuber gained spotlight with his first video, which was uploaded on 14 March 2006. Thus, he was 17 years old when he took to YouTube, during his high school years. It was around the same time that YouTube suddenly became a platform for young talented people, and therefore he used it as a means to explore his talent. He did well, and soon gained many subscribers. He mainly uploads videos and commentaries of horror-themed games, and also reads short stories called ‘Creepypastas’ in his ‘Cry Reads’ series, which is highly popular and amusing. He has a great sense of humor that he uses to his advantage in his videos which helps to keep his viewers awaiting more work from him. He hardly ever did collaborative videos, until his very recent collaboration with YouTuberPewDiePie. Cry’s gaming videos comprise ‘No Room in Hell’, ‘The Last of Us’, ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ and ‘The Wolf Amongst Us.’ He also co-hosts the Twitch variety show ‘Late Night with Cry and Russ’ along with Russ Money. In 2013, he directed the ‘Let’s Animate’series.

The one thing that helps us identify Cryaotic is his voice. His ability to be known simply for his talent is fundamentally what makes him so popular. All we can do as viewers and supporters is to imagine and decipher from his voice, how exactly he would look. Though it is a difficult task, it wouldn’t matter as his work and content is enough to keep us engaged! Would his fans like to know his true identity? That’s debatable as many of his fans would like to see who he is, while on the other hand many would rather choose to keep the secret alive, so that his work remains enigmatic. He has women from all over the globe begging to get a glimpse of him, as they find his voice attractive. Cryaotic has mentioned that he gets intimidated to reveal his true self andis uncomfortable mixing his personal life with his YouTube career. Thus, he wants to only put up great work that will continue to build his reputation.

Since he prefers to remain silent about his whereabouts, we can only gather information from his commentaries. We do know that he owns a cat, and is fond of animals. Before pursuing YouTube fulltime, he did work at regular jobs, but was never interested in them, and found them mundane. He wanted to do something different which would require him to put in skill, which he could manage at his own time. Hence, he isn’t one to be satisfied with an ordinary life.

He was born in New York. His childhood had been rough, as discerned from a short clip of his ‘Draw My Life’ video. In the video he states that his biological father dumped the family and thus his mother had to raise him singlehandedly. While this would have definitely traumatized him when he was young, he doesn’t display his sadness in his videos. He doesn’t look for any sympathy from his subscribers and fans for the same. He is happy to have made YouTube his career, as he enjoys chalking out his own schedule. He fears public places, just in case any of his supporters would identify his voice. Cryaotic doesn’t want to merge his personal life with his stardom. He is dating Cheyenne and they have commented in numerous gameplays together. He has never revealed his girlfriend’s identity too.
