Carmen Blanchard is a beautiful and budding American child actress better known as the younger sister of Rowan Blanchard, the famous star of television sitcom ‘Girl Meets World’. Carmen forayed into the world of performing arts together with her elder sister Rowan at an early age and performed in various shows singing, dancing and doing plays. She then followed her sister’s footsteps into acting, initially remaining part of TV series ‘Encounters’ and then in the American anthology horror TV series ‘American Horror Story’ in its first season. She garnered much appreciation from the audience for essaying the role of young Violet in the latter series and also got noticed by American actor and producer, Jeremy Piven, which earned her the role of Piven’s niece in the short comedy movie ‘Jeremy Piven’s Beard’. She is also known for her performance in the flick ‘A World Away’, directed by her father, Mark Blanchard, where she got a chance to perform with both Rowan and her younger brother, Shane, among others. She added another feather in her cap when Rowan took her to White House when it celebrated International Day of the Girl with ‘Glamour’ magazine. The way Carmen has advanced so far in the world of glamour and entertainment is really commendable and only time will tell whether she will continue in this field after she grows up.
The Meteoric Rise To Stardom
Carmen developed a knack for performing arts at an early age and attended many shows with her elder sister, Rowan, where both participated in singing, dancing and acts.
She later embarked into acting like her elder sister Rowan who she resembles very closely apart from her slightly lighter hair. She started with bit roles in television series like ‘Encounters’ and ‘American Horror Story’. She featured in the latter in its first season titled ‘American Horror Story: Murder House’ that aired on the FX television channel from October 5, 2011, to December 21, 2011. Produced by ‘20th Century Fox’, the season revolved around the family of the Harmon’s where Carmen essayed the role of young Violet, daughter of Dr. Ben Harmon and Vivien. The season not only garnered positive reviews from critics but also earned a basic recognition for Carmen. Her performance in the season caught attention of American actor and producer, Jeremy Piven, who went on to cast her in his short comedy movie ‘Jeremy Piven’s Beard’ that was written by Alex Richanbach and directed by Ian Pfaff. The film that released on March 28, 2013 in the US saw her starring opposite Jeremy Piven as his niece. The movie brought more accolades and appreciation for the nine-year-old Carmen.
More recently, she has been part of the 2017 American adventure film ‘A World Away’ directed by her father Mark Blanchard. The film gave her the opportunity to share screen space with her elder sister, Rowan, and younger brother, Shane, apart from other cast members like Nadine Velazquez, Mary Lynn Rajskub and David DeLuise. Carmen also featured in the video titled ‘Who I Am’.
On October 11, 2016, Carmen accompanied elder sister Rowan to the White House for celebrations of the ‘International Day of the Girl’. While Carmen enjoyed the celebrations there, Rowan and actress-model, Yara Shahidi, among others had major discussions on girl power with the then First Lady of America, Michelle Obama, at a special panel hosted by ‘Glamour’ magazine.
Carmen has also thrived in making a place for herself in social media with her Twitter account ‘carmblanchard’ having a count of around 30 K followers and her Instagram account ‘carmblanchard’ having a count of over 28 K followers. Her snapchat is ‘notcarmenn’

Carmen Blanchard was born on September 8, 2003, in California, United States to Elisabeth and Mark Blanchard as their youngest daughter and second child among three children. Both her parents are yoga instructors. Her American roots come from her paternal grandfather who emigrated from the Middle East, while her English, Swedish and Dutch roots come from the side of her paternal grandmother. She has two siblings, her elder sister Rowan and her younger brother Shane. At present she is attending high school while continuing with her acting endeavours.
